Baking for Christmas

Potrebujemo:
  • 400 g moke
  • 200 g hladnega masla
  • 100 g sladkorja
  • nastrgana lupina pol limone
  • ščep soli
  • ščep cimeta
  • 2 jajci

Ohlajene potresemo s sladkorjem.

Čokoladno-višnjevi mafini

Potrebujemo:
  • 250 g moke
  • 1 pecilni prašek
  • 130 g sladkorja v prahu
  • 1 vaniljev sladkor
  • 4 žlice kisle smetane (ali cela manjša kisla smetana)
  • 1 jajce
  • 6 žlic olja
  • razkoščičene višnje iz enega višnjevega kompota
  • 8 žlic višnjevega kompota
  • 100 g na koščke razdrobljene čokolade
Priprava: Najprej v prvi posodi skupaj premešamo suhe sestavine (moka, pecilni prašek, sladkor, vaniljev sladkor). Nato v drugi posodi najprej razžvrkljamo jajce in mu dodamo kislo smetano, olje in višnjev kompot ter dobro premešamo. Nato mokre sestavine dodamo suhim in jih zmešamo.

DIY: Snowflake Ornament

This post was planned to be published during December, and there should also be more than one DIY tutorial, but things didn’t go by plan, because my DIY projects didn’t really succeed, plus I was ill for some time, so I just didn’t manage to write and finish this post before. But because I really like these snowflake ornaments, I decided to post the tutorial for them anyway, maybe it’ll come handy next year if not this one.

What you need for this DIY project?
- acorn
- 6 acorn’s cupule
- toothpick
- hot glue gun
- golden spray

The process itself it’s not as hard as it may look like, but it takes a bit of time to do one snowflake, because the glue has to dry to hold everything well together. First we take an acorn and acorn’s cupule and we start to glue acorn’s cupule around acorn one by one. Then we leave it on a piece of newspaper to dry, and we create snowflake’s points. I created them with toothpicks. I was using two sizes of toothpicks – bigger ones for the main line and smaller ones for side lines (I cut each toothpick on half). I glued smaller halves of toothpick on a bigger half of toothpick and waited for the glue to dry a bit, because otherwise they would fall off. I made 6 points for one snowflake. Then I glued each point between two acorn’s cupule. I left the snowflake for some time on a piece of newspaper that the glue completely dried and then I sprayed the snowflake with golden spray. When the spray dried I tied a golden string around it and put it on my DIY Christmas tree.

This year I didn’t want just a classic Christmas tree, but I wanted to do a DIY Christmas tree as well. I found a photo of a simple, but amazingly looking Christmas tree created from branches on Pinterest and I knew immediately I have to do it in my room this year. It was so easy to do. I cut few branches in different sizes in the forest near my house, tied them together with a string and put some DIY and other ornaments on it. I have two different fairy lights on it, because the ones I bought for this tree were too short (I knew I should get two). I’m so sorry that I don’t have better photos, because my camera really didn’t want to catch it better (probably because of a green background), but I assure you that it looks amazing in person.

Do you also like to do DIY ornaments for a Christmas tree? Two years ago I made nail polish ornaments, check them out here. If you like this post, you’re welcome to share it. Thank you for reading!

Mac Lady Danger (Blogmas 2015)

Mac was the first high end brand that caught my eye and it’s still the one that interests me the most, because it has beautiful black packaging and a huge selection of products, not to mention interesting limited edition collections, but since the prices are quite high I was always looking their products from far and doing a WL, so that I would know exactly what to get once I’ll have a job. And on the top of my wish list was lipstick Lady Danger, which is such a lovely and bright shade that immediately stole my heart. Last year I bought it during my trip to Graz, and I was so excited that I finally have something from Mac that I had it on my desk where I store products I have to swatch and review yet for few months before I tried it. Crazy. Very crazy, because this is the prettiest lipstick in my collection and it needs to be worn, so that everyone can see it.

I already mentioned that I adore Mac’s black packaging, because it looks so elegant and chic. The packaging definitely has a great quality, as it should have for the price it costs. I paid 19€ in Mac store in Graz for her. It contains 3 g.

Lady Danger is a matte lipstick with amazing creamy formula that doesn’t dry my lips and it doesn’t emphasize dry parts. It’s not the most lightweight lipstick, but still it doesn’t feel too heavy. The shade is a lovely red with orange undertone, which I adore, because I was hoping that it won’t look like a classic red shade on me. When I drink or eat, it does transfer on a glass or service, but it doesn’t disappear completely from the lips – it actually looks pretty untouched. I actually haven’t measure how long does actually lasts on my lips, but I wore it on Beautiful Bloggers Meetup we had in October and it looked intensive for few hours, while I re-applied it here and there when I felt that it doesn’t look as nice as it should (we were drinking and eating quite often there ;)).

The pigmentation of this lipstick is so amazing. One swipe is enough to cover my lips completely. Because it’s a bolder lipstick I have to use lip brush to apply it nicely on edges of my lips (frankly, I’m not precise enough to do that with the lipstick). But otherwise it glides on lips very nicely. Lately I’m not wearing it much, because in winter my lips get dry a lot and for past few weeks I have problems with herpes, which means I need very moisturizing lip products for my lips (and that's why it looks shinier on my swacth on upper photo, because my lips are really in a horrible condition at the moment).

I am very happy with this lipstick and now I’m convinced that I need more Mac lipstick. I’m always checking Mateja’s blog when it comes to Mac, because she swatched many Mac lipsticks and we all know her swatches are perfect. I think I need one nude lipstick from them and also Mac Heroine (it looks amazing on Eva).

Have you tried Mac Lady Danger? Which Mac lipstick and other products would you recommend me to try? If you like this post, you’re welcome to share it. Thank you for reading!

The Christmas Gold (Blogmas 2015)

Beside red gold is one of my favourite colours for Christmas. Last year I made a post The Christmas Red, in which I presented my favourite makeup and other products in red colour, and already back then I was thinking to do the same for gold colour, but in the end there just wasn’t enough time for everything. So I decided that I’ll prepare post with golden products this year, and I’m glad I didn’t do it last year, because this year I got quite few products in gold colour I’m happy to show you today.

Golden nails
Metallic nail polishes are the prettiest in golden colours. Usually they are combined with pretty shimmer that makes them shine on nails. Beside metallic golden nail polishes I also adore golden toppers. They can variegate every manicure, because they look pretty over bright and dark shades.
Few of my favourite golden nail polishes and toppers are: Oriflame Rose Diamond, Catrice Champaign Rain, Manhattan 29Z, Essie Jiggle High Jiggle Low, P2 Precious, S-he Stylezone 230, Essence The Huntsman, Essence Steel-ing the Scene, Milani Jewel FX Gold, Essence Make it Golden.

Glowy skin
Although I do like all shades of highlighters, golden highlighters are my favourite. Ever since I bought Essence Gold Digger two years ago, I’m completely hooked and I haven’t found as perfect highlighter as this one is. Essence I Love My Golden Pumps is a new attempt of golden highlighter as Gold digger is, just less metallic in more yellowish, but still pretty. The brand that also knows how to make a pretty golden highlighter, is Terra Naturi, which hit the spot with Shimmer Powder 01 Golden Highlight

Golden skin and hair care
Golden packaging definitely looks very elegant and pretty. Some of my favourite products come in golden packaging, for example Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse oil, which has become a staple in my skin care routine. The other dry oil I like to use is Yves Rocher Monoi de Tahiti. I like nicely scented and nourishing shower products, and that’s why I included Dove Purely Pampering cream oil, Yves Rocher Cocoa&Orange and L’Occitane Amande shower gels in this post. All products are really nicely and my skin loves them. No less important is also a hair care. Beside Avon Advance Techniques oil, which I don’t have any more but I have to repurchase I nourish my hair with Afrodita Serum 10 in 1. I like to use it on dry hair, and it really makes hair soft, while the scent is amazing.

Golden accessories
When it comes to accessories, silver colour was my go to colour for the longest period of time, but for the last year or so I’m in love with golden things. I don’t wear jewellery often, so I don’t have a huge selection of golden pieces, but my favourites are knuckle rings and a white-golden flower necklace. Big, chunky earrings I wore for most of the time during high school and study were replaced with small earrings that I wear here and there now. Since I started doing creative makeup looks, golden studs and foils are a must-have for me, because the can make every makeup look more interesting. I also included MoYou Festive 07 plate, which comes in a pretty golden packaging and is full of festive designs that made my nails prettier many times.

Golden eyes
Golden eyeshadow is the one that can be used by natural everyday look or by more creative look. While almost every palette contains golden shade, not everyone makes a good quality golden eyeshadow. My favourites are golden shades from Sleek palettes – they are usually amazingly pigmented, don’t crease and last all day. My favourite eyeshadows are from palettes Storm, Sunset and Vintage Romance. One of my favourite eyeshadows is also Essence A Piece of Forever from Breaking Dawn TE because of the glitter it contains. It’s perfect for festive looks. Makeup products that are a must for me, are also golden eyeliners. They can be used for a simple everyday look or for something more for those more creatives. I like to use two types of eyeliners: metallic (Catrice Golden Grace) and glittery (Sleek Glitter eyeliner Hollywood).

Makeup looks
I had to include few makeup looks in this posts, because there are many makeup looks I’m proud of, and I gladly share them every time I can.

FOTD: The Christmas Red (Blogmas 2015)

Red lipstick and nail polish are a classic in makeup, but there is no more perfect occasion to wear red lips and nails as in December. Usually the red lips are combined with natural, classic cat eyeliner or a brown smokey eye look. Since I like to combine unusual colours together I first planned a golden-green-red makeup look in Christmas spirit, but photos didn’t really succeed and then I was thinking that not many people would wear it, so I ease it down and made it more wearable, but with a twist. It’s simple, and I think also wearable makeup. I’m sorry for not the best quality of photos, but weather is not really in my favour lately.

I started with priming my eye with eyeshadow base to prevent eyeshadow from creasing. Then I applied golden shimmery eyeshadow with yellow undertone all over my lid. In crease I used darker greyish brown shade. To make a look a bit warmer, I used brown shimmery shade in outer part of the lids and I blended it in crease. In the middle of the lid I added golden shade with not as strong yellow undertone as the eyeshadow I used first had it. On lower lash line I applied brown shimmery eyeshadow, which I mixed with brownish-golden shade. In inner part of lower lash line I applied green shimmery shade to add a bit of twist to this look. In inner corner of the eye I used champagne shimmery shade to highlight this area and open up my eyes, while I used white matte shade to highlight the area under my brows. I added cat eyeliner, black pencil on waterline, mascara and false lashes to finish the look.

On my face I didn’t complicate. I applied foundation and set it with powder, while I contoured the hollows of my cheeks with bronzer from Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour palette, applied coral blush Catrice Coral Me Maybe and golden highlighter Essence Gold Digger

On lips I used Oriflame The One Rouge Attraction* lipstick, which is a gorgeous classic red shade. It’s shiny lipstick with such a pleasant lightweight formula and it feels moisturizing on lips. I combined it with Oriflame Passionate Red* nail polish, which I already showed you here, where you can also check tutorials for three easy manicures for Christmas.

Hair Care with Aussie (Blogmas 2015)

Who's Aussie? Aussie is my best friend for hair for about a year and a half now, ever since I discovered 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor. It’s Australian boy with philosophy: “There’s more to life than hair, but it’s a good place to start.” Maybe hair really isn’t the most important part of our lives, but every girl definitely feels better with silky, soft and shiny hair. Many people actually don’t like Aussie because of the silicones their products contain, but those actually work great for me. When you’re getting compliments for your hair, you know you found a perfect hair care rutine.

Aussie Miracle Shine
Miracle Shine is a collection with shampoo, conditioner and deep treatment that contain Australian ginseng and pearl powder. It’s designed for dull, tired hair that need shine. I can’t say I have tired hair, because my hair was actually never as healthy as it is for the past year or two, but since this line is promising shine I had to test it, because I rarely believe in that kind of products. I’m always using products from the same line together, I haven’t tested them with products from other brands, because I found out that the combination of shampoo and conditioner or shampoo and deep treatment from this line works amazing for my hair. Aussie products have very strong sweet scent and at the beginning I didn’t like this one much (it quite differs from 3 Miracle Reconstructor scent), but now I got used to it. I usually wash my hair twice a week, and I did notice that when I use these products my hair looks nice on a second day as well, just that it loses a volume, but on a third day it becomes greasy. The scent stays on hair for quite some time, and this collection doesn’t dry my hair, while makes is soft, silky and very shiny. I have to say I’m really liking this collection and shampoo works better for my hair as for example shampoo from Miracle Moist collection.

Aussie Repair Miracle and 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor
Repair Miracle is a line with shampoo and conditioner that contain macadamia nut oil, jojoba-seed oil and avocado oil. This line is appropriate for all hair types, because it has a hair-repair formula that should bring your hair back to life. This line has similar sweet scent as Miracle Shine line. I have to admit that I wasn’t that impressed by this line. My hair is nicely soft after the usage of shampoo and conditioner, but they become greasier faster as when I use Miracle Shine line. Maybe they are just too much for my hair because my hair currently doesn’t need heavy products and these would probably work better on really dry and damaged hair. 3 Miracle Reconstructor is a miracle in a bottle. I already wrote about it here, but this is definitely the best Aussie product. It saved my dry ends and it made them look healthier and better. And what I wish for is that all Aussie products would have its amazing bubble gum scent.

Aussie products are recognizable by white/bright brown plastic packaging with a purple lid on the top (shampoo and conditioner) or a big white lid at the bottom (deep treatment), and a little kangaroo on the label. Shampoos give rich foam once you put them on your wet hair. Shampoos contain 300 ml, while conditioners and deep treatments contain 250 ml. Aussie made few different collections, although many girls are complaining that there isn’t any collection appropriate for greasy hair. Their products cost around 6-7 €. Beside my holy grail hair product 3 Miracle Reconstructor I’m also a fan of Miracle Shine collection, because I believe that it gives a nice shine to my hair.

Spoznavanje z znamko Essentiq (Blogmas 2015)

Seznam sestavin in ostale informacije najdete tukaj.

FOTD: Storm (Blogmas 2015)

Today I’m having a really bad day. I normally don’t blog on such days, and even today I thought about skipping my post and dropping Blogmas project, but then I remembered I have a makeup look I haven’t posted yet that perfectly describes my feelings. I’m currently having a storm full of different negative feelings inside me. I bet this happens to everyone. You feel like you’re not good enough, like no one supports you, like nothing goes by plan … In November I had a little personal crisis, and because I’m not really a person who would write long chatty personal posts about negative aspects of her life, I got the idea that it would be better if I would just transform my filings into makeup. And guess what, it definitely made me feel better. Because makeup makes me happy.

I started with my eye makeup. Everything was going great until eyeliner. I wanted to do a regular black eyeliner in inner part of my eye that would transform into lightning in outer part of my eye. No matter how I tried I couldn’t draw the lightning the same on both sides – I made it bigger on left side. Oh, well, everything cannot go perfectly well. Then I just mixed and blend a ton … well, actually just few – blue, purple and pink – shades on my cheeks, and draw lightning with white cream colour. To match the rest of the makeup, I coloured my lips in purple (I mixed few colours from Flash palette).

Manicure with Essence All That Greys (Blogmas 2015)

Today’s theme is in accordance with today’s weather – grey, but we’re going to add a bit of colour as well. On Friday I found Essence All That Greys collection in DM and I bought two polishes from it that seemed the prettiest to me. I thought I’d post swatches as soon as possible, because there are only two bottles of each shade and they do sell out quite fast.

All That Greys collection is a collection with five polishes and many other products. Four polishes are grey and one is red. Polishes are packed in a square bottle and they have removable cap. The bottle contains 11 ml and the price in DM was 2,19 €. Polishes have different finishes, while formula is mostly okay. Both polishes have standard round brush, which is okay, although I do prefer flat brush, because I find application easier with it.

Girl With a Pearl is a very bright cream shade that dries glossy. The formula is nice. It’s a bit thicker, but still easy to apply. I needed two coats to achieve full coverage. I took this polish, because it looks like an amazing base for nail art, and because this one is not a typical pink or brown nude, but grey.

Roaring Red is a dark shimmery red shade. I completely felt in love with it, when I saw swatches on Instagram. It’s just a perfect dark red shade. It dries satin or as they say in pearly matt finish. It has a bit runny formula, so I had to use thin coats for nice and even application, but two coats were still enough for a full coverage. I also applied glossy top coat over it and I have to admit, I like it better when it’s glossy. And don’t you agree that this is a perfect Christmas shade?

Of course I had to create Christmas manicure with these two polishes. When I’m going to wear it if not in December? I used Roaring Red as a base and Girl With a Pearl for stamping. I used designs from two stamping plates – MoYou Festive 06 and Born Pretty Store BP-01. I added a bit of sparkle with Constance Carroll Glitzy Aqua Sparkle nail polish.

Did you get anything from All That Greys collection? What do you think about these two polishes? Thank you for reading!
