NOTD: Halloween Manicure (Collaboration with The Beauty of Nail Polish)

This year I haven't done any Halloween nail art yet, because I was so occupied with makeup, but then Tara from The Beauty of Nail Polish asked me to do a collaboration post for Halloween with her and I couldn't say no to her, since we are true blogging soulmates. We decided to do something on a ghost theme. In October I haven't done much nail art, which is noticeable, because my manicure is far from perfect, but since I had a busy week I didn't want to complicate. I chose purple base, because I'm completely in love with Alessandro Purple Passion nail polish from Glam Rock collection, which is on my nails this whole week already.

The polishes I used for this nail art are: Alessandro Purple Passion, Catrice Lovely Lilac, Essence Black is Back, Essence Wild White Ways and Essence Love is in the Air. I didn't want to do only ghosts on my nails, so I did a scary house and a graveyard with ghosts. Everything I did is painted free-hand.

What do you think about this manicure? Also, don't forget to check out Tara's work, she will definitely impress you  with her amazing manicure. Thank you for reading!

Few More Halloween Makeup Ideas

Halloween is on Saturday, but most parties here in Slovenia will be happening today. Because I made few more looks that didn't get their own posts I decided to include them all together in one post and tell you something about each one. Maybe you'll get any idea for Halloween makeup. If you want to check my other Halloween makeup looks, just click here. I had two more scarier looks planned for this week, but something came up and I didn't had much time to create them. Well, I'll keep them in mind for the next week. :)

Sexy Clown
I've been seeing these kind of clown looks all over the Instagram and Facebook, and since it was stuck in my head I had to try it. This look actually isn't as hard to do, and if you will be clown for Halloween you will be unrecognizable. I started with my eyes. First I used black eyeshadow to outline where the eyeshadow will end, and then I applied yellow all over the lid. With black eyeshadow I made a flick first and then I blended it into the yellow shade. On lower lash line I applied red eyeshadow, which I blended down towards the cheeks. Then I took creamy black eyeshadow and I draw three lines where I applied red before. Above my eyebrows I draw two triangles. On the point of all lines and both triangles I glued white studs. Then I draw a black nose and clown's mouth. On my neck I draw red and white lines. I had to use red wig, because it seemed like it will be a perfect match for this look and it really was. The eyeshadows that I was using for this look were from Flash palette that I got on eBay and from Sleek Curacao palette.

Capitol Citizen
I had no idea how to call this look, but then I remember I could probably get away with it in The Capitol. I started playing with colours on eyes without knowing exactly what I'm going to do and this came out. I wanted to achieve harsh lines between different colours on eyes at the beginning, and that's the reason the blush is applied the way it is, but in the end I had to blend colours together, because it seemed better that way. I used some yellow, pink, red, orange and blue. I wanted to achieve as crazy look as I could. On eyebrows I made a blue-black gradient to match the look better. In the end I applied black false lashes with blue feathers I bought in Tedi. Here I was using eyeshadows from Sleek palettes Curacao and Ultra Mattes V2, while on cheeks I applied Sleek blush Pomegranate and Essence highlighter Gold Digger. First I made a bit crazier lips, but they didn't really match this look as I wanted, so I just applied pink matte lip liner on them.

Mask Galaxy Makeup
Mask makeup looks are the easiest to do, if you ask me. All you have to do is use your imagination. This mask was planned to be a purple gradient mask, but when I applied and blended all eyeshadows together it reminded me a lot on galaxy, so I added few dots and stars. I filled my brows with black, because brown wouldn't really match the purple nicely, and I also applied eyeliner on upper lid, while I outlined my lower lash line with black. False lashes were a nice addition to this look. Before I started to apply eyeshadow on my face, I outlined the mask with black cream eyeshadow from Flash palette. In the end I draw semicircles with the same black all around the mask and filled them in with pink. For this mask I was using Flash palette, Lady Queen palette with 20 eyeshadows and Sleek palette Ultra Mattes V2 Darks.

Mad Hatter
Who doesn't love Johnny Depp? When Tjaša (I think it was her) suggested me to do one of the characters from Tim Burton's movies, I didn't chose any girl character but a Mad Hatter that was played by Johnny Depp in movie Alice in Wonderland. This makeup was really fun to do, with the exception that I used face painting from Spar that didn't apply nicely and it looked really chalky when it dried. Mad Hatter has blue eyeshadow on one and purple on other eyelid, so I did that. He actually has very bushy orange eyebrows, but because I didn't have anything do to brows I used orange eyeshadow, which I mixed with a bit of red, and I draw bushy eyebrows. His nose is contoured with red, and his temples and hollows of cheeks as well. I also applied a bit of orange blush on cheeks, because I noticed in the movie that he's wearing it. On lips I applied pink lipstick. I made the hat myself from a cardboard. I painted it with black tempera painting. I really like this look, although I did have a problem with blending eyeshadow over this white base, because it wasn't smoothy as I would want.

Pop Art Zombie
Pop art zombie is another makeup that is really popular and I was seeing it all over Instagram. Because it seemed to me like this makeup is quite a challenge, I had to do it. I was mostly using eyeshadows from Flash palette, which are not as hard to work with, but their problem is that they don't dry once they are applied on skin. They stay as creamy as in palette, so the design can be quickly smudged. I'm quite satisfied with this look for the first try. The only thing I would change is that I would blend the eyeshadow on lids. I made it intentionally so harsh looking, but on photos it doesn't look as nice as it looked in my head.

FOTD: Golden Goddess (Halloween Makeup)

Greek mythology is something I always loved, especially the costumes and makeup in movies and TV shows. Greek’s history was always one of my favourite periods of history, except when I had to study it for the exam. Then it was all about numbers and bare information. I could not let go this year’s Halloween to pass by without me doing a makeup look inspired by Greek goddess. Instead of Greek I named my look Golden Goddess. And by Golden Goddess it’s all about golden colour.

On eyes I mixed so many shades that I don’t remember anymore exactly, what I used where. I used few golden shades and few browns and that way I achieved a brown smokey look. On brows I first used my regular Love Brunettes shade from Essence How to Make Brows Wow palette and then I used a bit of golden eyeshadow over it. To finish the eyes I made cat eyeliner with a flick in outer and inner corner and I applied black pencil on my waterline. Following the line of cat eyeliner I applied a golden glittery eyeliner as well. On lower lashes I applied mascara and on upper lid I used false lashes. Then I draw few lines on outer part of lower lash line with golden glittery eyeliner.

By the complexion of the golden goddesses is of course everything about bronzed look. I actually wanted a bit more shimmery look on my cheeks, but I have no shimmery bronzer, so I mixed matte bronzer with golden highlighter and I contoured my face with it. I applied the same mixture on cheeks and then I added a bit of Freedom Makeup bronzer Purr that looks pinkish on me over it to give my face more fresh look. Then I highlighted my cheeks with golden highlighter.

When makeup was done the fun part has begun. Some time ago I bought golden leaves foil in Moja drogerija and I knew this foil is a must for this look. First I applied it on inner part of my dark circles – from inner corner of my eyes down towards my cheeks. Then I applied it on highest point of my cheeks on both sides and in the end on my neck on left and right side. On my lips I used golden shade from Flash palette and then I tapped golden eyeshadow from Sleek Sunset palette. In the end I applied golden necklace on my forehead and the look was done. The day before I did this look I braided my hair in french braid, so I could have more curly hair.

FOTD: Ice Queen (Halloween Makeup)

In my Snow Queen post I mentioned that I want to do a whiter version of that makeup, so called Ice Queen look. Of course the white colour wasn’t supposed to be the only one used, because that would look strange. I decided to combine it with a bit of silver and plum. I have to admit this look didn’t come out as I wanted and I wasn’t 100% satisfied with it, but if I judge by response on Instagram and Facebook, you really like it. So I decided to dedicate it its own post.

I started with a very light foundation, because Ice Queen should have fair, almost white complexion. I Mixed Oriflame Porcelain foundation, which is very light shade, with Makeup Revolution white foundation. I had no idea what to do with eyebrows, because I didn’t want white brows, but silver ones didn’t work as I wanted. So in the end I filled them with Love Brunettes eyeshadow that I usually use, and then I applied silver eyeshadow over them. Until I didn’t spray the snow on my hair they didn’t really matched the look, but after application of snow everything looked great. I contoured my forehead and hollows of my cheaks with plumy eyeshadow, but after I blended it it looked more like a pinkish-red shade. On forehead I applied a bit of silver eyeshadow over the plumy one, but I made sure that it was really nicely blended in it. On cheeks I used rosy shimmery blush, because the silver didn’t work there. As a highlighter on the top of the cheeks I used Essence white pigment that contains a bit of glitter. Because I felt like something is missing I added some white glitter there, too. Because that wasn’t enough I applied the glitter on my temples as well. The glitter I used was from Essence nail art line, but I think they were discontinued in spring. But don’t worry; if you’re searching any stuff for creating, Tedi is a right place for you. Almost everything I use for my Halloween looks (wigs, spiders, crown, leaves glitter, leaves band ...) I got in Tedi.

On eyes I didn’t complicate. I applied matte white eyeshadow all over my lid, but of course I used NYX Milk pencil as a base before to intensify the white. In outer corner I gently applied purple shade from Makeup Revolution Big Love palette, which I blended gently into the crease. I’m saying gently, because I didn’t want for the purple to be very intensive, but very very light, almost unnoticeable. I applied the same plum eyeshadow to contour the place above the inner corner (I have no idea how this area on our face is called, sorry). On outer third of the lid I applied silver eyeshadow and on inner two thirds of the lid white Essence pigment with glitter. Then I wanted to apply silver false eyelashes to make the look even crazier, but I couldn’t and couldn’t glue them on my eyes. Crazy! Instead of that I rather applied black eyeliner and then black false eyelashes. Under my eyes I applied purple eyeshadow from MR palette and on waterline white eye pencil. On lips I mixed few shades to get gentle pink look, and in the end I added white glittery pigment to make them more shiny and outstanding. Above my brows I glued few white studs I ordered on eBay (they were very cheap, around 1 € I think).

Then the fun part has begun. In Tedi I bought spray that creates snow on windows and other surfaces. I was a bit afraid to use it on hair, but I decided to take a risk, because this look wouldn’t be perfect without white hair. I sprayed it all over my hair and on my neck. I really like the touch this snow gave to this look, although I think I could skip it on the neck, but oh well, what was done, was done.

So vas prepričali? Če vam je bila objava všeč, bom hvaležna za vsako deljenje na socialnih omrežjih. Hvala za pozornost!

FOTD: Spider Queen (Halloween Series)

Hi, beauties! Today I have another Halloween makeup look for you. While I'm crossing the looks I already made off the list I'm getting new and new ideas, so it's possible there will be more creative makeup looks posted in November, because I won't manage to post everything until Halloween. This time I have for you a look I call Spider Queen. It probably could be called something else, but that is as far as my creativity with naming looks goes. I don't remember anymore by whom I saw the look that inspired me to do spider webs on my face, but I know I was very impressed. I found spiders in Tedi and bought them immediately. Although I do wish that they would be smaller, because they were really heavy and during photo shooting I had a feeling they will fall down from my face. At the beginning I wanted to use red eyeshadow, but I already used red shade two times before for my Halloween looks (Queen of Hearts and Sugar Skull), so instead I decided for purple and I'm so happy I changed my mind, because I really love this purple look.

This time I didn't do a tutorial for this look. I actually didn't do any new technique, because I used most of those I already showed tutorials for by previous look. And also, tutorials for these looks take so much time. I usually take photos for these posts a whole forenoon, but this week I had some other things to do and I really didn’t have time to spend a whole morning taking photos.

I started with my regular foundation application and I filled my eyebrows with black eyeshadow. I had two reasons to use black for eyebrows. First is that I planned to use a lot of black for this look anyway and black eyebrows would be a better match, and the second is that I own a black wig with purple flocks of hair, which I wanted to use, but unfortunately I didn't really like the complete look with it.
For my eyes I didn't do anything complicated. I applied purple matte eyeshadow over the whole lid, black in crease, blended it out with purple on brow bone and I also used purple under my eyes. For highlighting the area under my brow and inner corner I used shimmery beige eyeshadow. Thick eyeliner and false lashes were a must for this look.

On my left side I applied eyeshadow on lower lash line normally; while on right I applied it lower on my dark circles. Here I used the same technique as for FallFairy look (harsh line on upper part of the eye, for which you can use tape, and harsh line on lower part of the eye). Then I draw a spider web in empty place between upper and lower eyeshadow. I started dragging lines from outer corner of my eye against the highest point of my cheeks. Every time I draw a web I used a clean brush and blended semicircles a bit to get more blended look of the webs. It looks so much prettier.

I took purple and I contoured the hollows of my cheeks on both sides and my forehead. I also applied purple on my neck. Then I draw another web on my left side. This one was bigger; I drew it on more than a half of my cheeks, because I glued a spider on it later. I draw another web on my neck, where I glued another spider. The third one I glued on the right side of my forehead, but I decided to skip the net there.

With the lip colour I actually had a problem, because I don't own any purple that would be similar to the purple on my eyes. So instead I used berry purple, which I applied all over the lips. Then I took black cream eyeshadow and outlined my lips with it. In the end I blended both shades together, applied a bit more lipstick, so that the black wouldn’t overwhelmed the look and that was it.

I should have known that the wig for 5 € from Tedi won't be anything special. The problem with it is that it doesn't look nicely in front, because the hair is covering the half of my face and that way the half of my makeup. Because makeup, the star, is less outstanding when the wig is on, I prefer it without the wig. But I like that the wig is black and it matches the brows and the whole look better than my brown hair. I should definitely get another, completely black wig for this look.

Pinktober: Wearing Pink Makeup and Nails

October is a breast cancer awareness month and a group of Slovenian bloggers decided to do collaboration posts for this occasion. I, of course, had to join since from last year our family has been struggling with this disease, but luckily it’s getting better and I’m preparing a chatty post about this theme once this week. I hope I will post it because I’m still not satisfied with everything I wrote. So more about cancer and how I’ve been experiencing it during past year, next time. But I’m sure many Slovenian bloggers wrote more about cancer and how to fight it in their posts, so definitely check them out (links to their posts are in the end of my post).

As a blogger who’s loving makeup I decided to prepare a tutorial for a simple pink and purple makeup look, and I also made (not so) matching manicure, because from the end of 31 day nail art challenge I haven’t been doing much nail art.

I taped a tape in outer part of my eye, because I wanted a sharp line there, and I started with priming my lids with eyeshadow base. Then I applied brighter matte pink eyeshadow on inner third of my lid and a bit darker pink shade on the rest of the lid. In crease I first applied purple eyeshadow and blended it on brow bone. Then I took black eyeshadow, which I applied in crease and blended it out with light purple shade. In the middle of the lid I used shimmery pink shade. I removed the tape. On my lower lash line I used matte pink eyeshadow. I highlighted inner corner with matte white eyeshadow. Then I pulled the line with pink eyeshadow from outer corner of my eye till my brow, parallel with the line on upper part of my eye. I filled the gap between both lines with white eyeshadow. On waterline and between lower lashes I applied black kajal pencil and then used purple eyeshadow to smudge it between lashes. Then I applied eyeliner, highlighter under my brow, mascara and false lashes

Exaggerating with pink was a huge possibility here, because I decided to use pink on cheeks and lips as well, but I applied blush really gently and it’s almost invisible on photos. I have a feeling that this bright pink lip cream concludes the look really nicely. I first applied darker shade of pink, but that just wasn’t what I wanted, so I rather used a bright pink shade. In the end this came out bolder that I planned, but I do like it. Although I’m not really sure I would wear so many pink on regular basis.

Pink nails are not something I would do often, but pink inspired nail art must be done in October. I was using Essence Wild White Ways and Models Own Gumballs, combining different techniques - freehand design, dotting and striping tape. Although I'm not a fan of pink I really like this manicure.

Don't forget to check what other girls did for their pink inspired post.

Pinktober: Colour Your Life With Pink (Breast Cancer Awareness Month)

October is a pink month. Everybody who knows me knows that I’m not a fan of pink colour, except when it comes to lips and cheeks. Makeup is the only sphere where I give pink colour a chance. While I was preparing a special post for tomorrow, for which few of Slovenian ladies got together and created posts for October as a breast cancer awareness months, I got the idea to share with you few of my favourite pink makeup products. I only chose makeup products, because I’m trying to avoid pink anywhere else, although I do have few other products in pink (shower gels, makeup brushes etc.).

Pink Eyes
I have a feeling that pink on eyes is not something that would be a regular practise in a beauty world. People really avoid pink in eye makeup, except if it’s a rosy shimmery shade that isn’t in your face shade. Well, although I don’t wear pink on eyes very often I really do like to incorporate it in my colourful makeup looks. Colourful and bold makeup look for summer or purple smokey eyes are definitely two looks that won’t go away without pink in it. And I actually own quite few palettes with pink eyeshadows. For this post I chose four palettes that are often in usage. Beauty UK Day and Night is a palette that is my first choice when I want to create something pink. It has one pastel pink shade and one reddish pink that look very nice on eyes. For bolder summer look pink eyeshadow is a must. Sleek Acid contains very nice neon pink shade that unfortunately isn’t the best pigmented, but a good white base can make it pop out. For everyday usage the perfect “pink palette” is Deborah Milano Smokey Eye Nude Rose. All shades in this palette are more on a neutral side, so I think those who don’t like bolder looks would love it, too. The most recent addition to my palette collection is Lady Queen’s palette with 20 eyeshadows that unfortunately doesn’t have any interesting name, but it contains two matte pink eyeshadows that are the most in usage by me lately when I’m doing a makeup that contains pink.

Rosy Cheeks
My natural cheek colour is something between red and pink, and that’s the reason I really like to use pink blushes on my cheeks. The finish depends from the look I’m doing, but I like matte and shimmery blushes the same. Two of my all time favourite pink blushes are Catrice Defining blushes Think Pink and Pinkerbell. First one has coraly undertone, while second one is a bright pink shade. When it comes to shimmery pink shades Essence Ring Around the Rosy is the one that completely stole my heart. During the summer it was one of my most used blushes because it gives a special glow to the cheeks. I also decided to include Makeup Revolution palette All About Cream, which contains 8 blushes, and three of them are pink. For lovers of creamy blushes this is a perfect palette, because blushes are nicely pigmented and easy to blend, while duration time also isn’t that bad.

Pink Lips
If I would ask my fellow bloggers and readers a question: “If I could wear only one colour on my lips till the end of my life, what do you think which colour that would be?” I bet they would say pink. And you can bet they would be right. I mean, I love all colours on my lips, but pink is “the special one”. In this post I could mention a whole list of pink lip products, but I decided to reduce my choices on four products. One of my all time favourite pinks is definitely Look by Bipa lipliner in Bonbon. Its creamy formula goes on lips smoothly, and although it’s matte it doesn’t dry the lips and doesn’t emphasize dry parts. I’m completely in love with this shade. Second matte favourite is Bourjois Pink Pong. It has a very pleasant and non-drying formula, and with lipliner underneath it can lasts for hours without disappearing. I also really love the formula of Maybelline lipsticks. Vivid Rose is a creamy lipstick with amazing colour payoff and it feels very light on lips and it also lasts for some time. The last pink I’m going to mention is Freedom Candy Sweet, which is a nice creamy bright pink shade. The pigmentation isn’t the best, but it can be built up.

If you would go through my nail polish stash you would find many pink nail polishes. I kept one or two for occasions as Pink October, but otherwise it takes a lot for pink polish to convince me. But I do like two pink polishes. One of them is Essie Fiji, a pastel pink shade, and second is Models Own Cerise, a fuchsia pink shade with chrome finish. Both of them are special and that’s why I like them.

If you are interested in detailed reviews of certain products, click on the name of the products. I reviewed most of the products I mentioned today and those I haven't yet will get their reviews soon.

Stay tuned for tomorrow, because I prepared pink makeup and nail art for you. :)

FOTD: Poison Ivy (Halloween Series)

Poison Ivy with her gorgeous red hair was the character I wanted to do for this Halloween, but finding a red wig was not so easy. Finally I found it in Spar, but the makeup was not a piece of cake either. I was doing it twice, because the first time I wasn’t satisfied with photos. The camera makes makeup colours less intensive as they are in reality, that’s a first, and after I put the wig on my head the green colour just vanished somewhere. It looked so intense until I didn’t put the wig on, but once it was on this vivid red overwhelmed the whole look. But nonetheless, I was satisfied with photos I took the second time, so here is my Poison Ivy look for Halloween.

I couldn’t wear brown eyebrows, when I had the red wig, right? I didn’t like any red in my collection enough to fill my brows with it, so in the end I decided to mix red and orange. That way I achieved this gorgeous orangey red shade. I taped the tape on my outer part of the eye, because my first intention was to get the sharp line there, but later during the process I changed my mind. I primed my eye with eyeshadow primer and applied light brown in crease as a transition colour. On inner third of the lid I applied bright green shade, on second third a darker green and on last third a teal green shade. As you can see my application wasn’t very neat, because later I took blending brush and blend everything out on brow bone. When the tape was still on I took black eyeshadow and lined my eye with it. I felt like black eyeshadow will look better with this look as eyeliner. After that I removed the tape. Under my eyes I mixed the dark green and teal green shades. I pulled the line towars the eyebrow, till the end of the eyeliner flick. On my tightline and waterline I applied black eye pencil and I highlighted inner corner and brow bone with pearly white shade. For the end I applied mascara and false lashes

Poison Ivy wears some kind of leaves on her eyebrows. I didn’t want to do exactly the same thing, so I rather contoured my forehead with green in a shape of triangle, and then I pulled the green down from my crown of the head to hollows of cheeks. I also applied green on my neck. Because the green I used was very light I used darker green shade to darken the look. I also applied glittery eyeliner in triangles on my forehead on both sides. For the blush I used orange shade, because it was the best match for this look (and because I didn’t want the red). On lips I used Mac Lady Danger, because it was a perfect combination match for the wig. Then I draw a design with few poison ivy leaves on right side and with one of left side and the look was done.

Overall I'm really satisfied with the look, but as I said before I have a feeling that the vivid red wig "eats" the green and makes it less intense. I bought the wig in Spar. It's actually a wig with horns for the devil look, but I used pile of green leaves as a crown and hidden them. On photos they wouldn't be visible anyway. But otherwise this wig can be perfect to achieve Poison Ivy look from the movie. As you know, she has horns. You can just wrap the hair around the horns, secure them and achieve Poison Ivy horns.
