FOTD: Being Bold

Bold lips and bold eyes are not a combination many people would wear, but I like create and most of the time creating something bolder is more challenging than creating something simple. As you can see by my hair the weather was crazy that day I was taking these photos. The wind was blowing and I barely made few decent photos.

This look was actually inspired by Blue Hawaiian eyeshadow from Sleek Curacao palette. It's a gorgeous light blue shades. It actually reminds me on sea and summer. I combined it with darker blue shades in crease and under my eyes and because this wasn't meant to be a wearable look, I added yellow in crease. And a thick black eyeliner, which can't be missed. I only regret I didn't add false lashes to make the look more dramatic.

FOTD: Pastel Blue

I just realized in less than a month Summer officially begins and I still haven't posted my pastel Spring inspired makeup look. I also have few bolder looks prepared. Few of you said that you'd like to see more makeup tutorials on my blog. Lately I barely have time to put a makeup on, but in next two months I'll try to do two or three Summer inspired tutorials (maybe a tutorial with minimal makeup I wear when it's hot) and maybe one tutorial with Makeup Revolution Hot Smoked palette I'll review soon. Tell me what you think. :)

I used pastel eyeshadows from Essence Ready for Boarding palette. It's not super duper pigmented palette, but it's perfect for soft looks. On two third of a lid I used yellow eyeshadow, on outer third of a lid brown and in outer V blue eyeshadow. Under my eyes I first used blue eyeliner pen and then I blended it with blue eyeshadow from Essence palette. Because I went with soft look I used Catrice pen eyeliner, which is more a soft black shade (as you know I have to wear black eyeliner with my looks) and on my waterline I applied white pencil to open up my eyes. On my lips I decided to apply orange lip liner and lipstick, because orange lips are a hit this Spring and Summer.

Products I used:
*Eyes
- Essence I Love Stage eyeshadow base
- Essence Ready for Boarding palette
- Misslyn Cornflower eyeliner pencil
- Catrice Cat Eyes eyeliner pen Deep Black
- NYX Milk jumbo pencil

NOTD: Born Pretty Store Nail Art Sticker

I was meaning to share Born Pretty Store Nail Art Stickers K1009 last week already, but during the weekend I just didn't had enough time to wrote a post. When I first saw these stickers on Born Pretty Store site I felt in love immediately and I liked them even more, when I received them by mail. The golden-black combination is just perfect. Even my co-workers were totally impressed with them and they asked me how I did these nails. And when I told them I'm wearing nail art stickers, they couldn't believe and were asking me where I bought them. :)

The application of these is very easy, you just place them on your nail, push them from the middle to the end of a nail bed, remove the access of nail sticker with nail file and you're done. Nail sticker are the easiest way to do a nail art and everyone will think you put a lot of effort in it. I used a top coat over them and they lasted two days on my nails with minimal tip wear, but then I removed them, because I wanted to try something else on my nails. They could probably last few days longer. The removal is also easy, I just used a nail polish remover with acetone and they went down without any problem. Always when I'm wearing nail stickers I'm discovering that I have bigger nails on my right hand. These were perfect size for my right hand any maybe a tiny bit too big for my left hand, but that wasn't noticeable in person. The only thing I think it could be problematic are big designs. I had longer nails so entire design of each sticker was visible on my nails, but someone with smaller nails probably couldn't have a whole design on her nails.

These costs $1,93 on Born Pretty Store at the moment and you get 14 pieces of nail stickers in one packaging. They have different sizes so you can adjust them to your nails. Also don't forget to use my discount code for 10% off. Only three more uses and Born Pretty Store will sponsor a giveaway on my blog. How cool is that? :)

Have you tried Born Pretty Store nail art sticker before? What do you think of these? Thank you for reading!

Models Own Polish for Tans (Bikini, Flip Flop, Beach Bag)

When I  saw swatches of Models Own Polish for Tans collection for the first time I felt in love immediately. Neon polishes were always my favourite and these are perfect neon shades. Models Own brand is available on Click2Chic in Slovenia and I ordered them immediately when I received an email information, that this collection is now sold in their store. As you know I'm not a fan of pink polishes, so I ordered only three: Beach Bag, Flip Flop and Bikini

These neon polishes have very similar formula to pastel polishes. They apply a bit streaky, so I recommend you to apply one thin coat first and then a bit thicker second coat. You can also apply them over a white base, they will look even more bright. Their pigmentation is really amazing. Most of my neon polishes require three coats, but these are already opaque after two. They dry semi-matte, but you can always apply a top coat for more glossy look. And even without fast drying top coat these dry very quickly.

First polish is Beach Bag. This one was the hardest to photograph. It's peachy orange shade, but it looks less intense on my photos. The closest shade is on first photo in the bottle. I used two coats.

Bikini is a gorgeous bright yellow neon shade, my favourite in the bunch. I definitely see myself wearing it all the time during the summer (I'm actually wearing it also right now, when I'm typing this). I used two coats.

Flip Flop is a very bright neon green. I think this is my fifth or sixth neon green shade, but it's not similar to any other, it's the brightest of them all. Definitely a very special shade for green lovers. I used two coats.

Models Own polishes contain 14 ml. I got them on Click2chic for 5,95 €. They are also available on Models Own site, but they don't ship international, so try to check some other online stores (Asos ...) if they have this collection. I do recommend them to all neon lovers, because these are really special. My neon collection is not small at all, but I don't have anything similar to these shades yet (in few days I'll post my neon nail polish collection on my blog). I think these will suit everyone, even those who are not very tanned.

What do you think of Models Own Polish for Tans collection? Which shade is your favourite? Thank you for reading!

Simple Guide to Eyeliners with Tutorial

I was asked long time ago to do a tutorial how I apply eyeliner and I tried to photograph it many times, but I was never satisfied enough to post photos. Then when I was trying to take proper photos for a tutorial for the fourth time I got the idea I could do something like " guide to eyeliners" post. As you probably know by now, eyeliner is an indispensable part of my make up and I tried few different ones, but didn't review many, so I decided that this post will have short review of each eyeliner I have in my collection at the moment as well.

There exist many eyeliners - black, colorful, glittery, but I decided to focus on black eyeliners. There are different types of eyeliners:
- pencils (good for every day wear, because they give eyes a natural definition)
- pens (good for simple looks, ease of pencil combined with coverage of a liquid eyeliner)
- liquid (good for precise line)
- kajal (pigmented, blendable)
- gel/cream (gel eyeliners are good for beginners, because they are easy to work with)
- kohl (pigmented, good for smoky look)

Today I'll talk about pen, gel and liquid eyelines, which are my favourite to use.

Essence do remarkable colorful eyeliner pens, but shitty black ones. I don't know why I'm constantly buying their black pen liners, because none impressed me till now. My newest addition to collection is Superfine eyeliner pen in Deep Black. It has long thin pointer which is easy to control and it makes a thin line. On the other hand there is Catrice cat eyes eyeliner pen Deep Black, that has shorther and thicker pointer, but it's also easy to apply and one can also do a thin line with it. They are both called Deep Black, but they are not deep black at all, more like greyish black, Essence even more than Catrice. Pigmentation of both is medium and what bothers me with these pens is that they dry quickly. Essence eyeliner also stain the skin and it's harder to remove. What I also want to mention is that these are good for lining the eye, but not the best to use when you want to do a winged eyeliner. I just can't do winged line with them, they just don't give any color and it takes a lot of effort and time to do a proper winged eyeliner with them (I usually combine both to get nice pigmentation). Essence costs a bit less than 3 € and Catrice one I got on Essence&Catrice event, but it was LE so it's not available anymore.

I went through my published looks on blog, because I want to show you how every eyeliner looks on eyes. On first photo I'm wearing Essence eyeliner and on second Catrice eyeliner.

Next is Alverde gel Eyeliner in Extreme Black. Well, this is what I call a black color. At the beginning I didn't like it that much, because it's more liquidy and not so good pigmented, but with time I started to like it. I usually apply it in two coats. With angled brush it's easy to apply thin and thicker line as well. It's not waterproof, but it won't smudge during the day, except if you'll cry or touch your eyes. It's also easy to remove. It costs around 3 €.

Liquid eyeliners have two different types of applicator: brush and spongy applicator. I tried both and l prefer thin brushes, because they are easier to work with. Catrice Ultra Fine Ink eyeliner in Don't Move is a great eyeliner. Amazingly pigmented, a true black shade, easy to apply because it has thin brush and also easy to remove. It's waterproof so it lasts all day without smudging. I bought two packaging of it already, but I had to throw second one away after one month, because it became too thick. I bought last eyeliner in the store and I think it was already opened before, because it became thick too quickly. First packaging I was using for a half of a year and it wasn't thick until I almost finished it. It costs around 4 €.
Second eyeliner with thin brush I use it Essence Liquid Ink waterproof eyeliner. Everybody is in love with it, but not me. It's not as pigmented as Catrice eyeliner, but the coverage is still good enough. It's easy to apply and also remove and it drys matte. It's waterproof so it doesn't smudge, but what actually bothers me is that after few hours starts cracking on eyes. The other thing that bothers me as well is that I can't wear it with shimmery eyeshadows, because shimmer sees through even though I apply two or even three coats (which is enough for a good coverage). It costs around 3 €.
I already reviewed Eveline Liquid Precision 2000 procent eyeliner before and I wasn't impressed. I still don't like it much, because it isn't good pigmented and it's hard to do a nice line with it (spongy applicator doesn't help), but I'm still using it, because it great to line inner corner of my eyes. Spongy applicator is perfect for that, because it has a thin end. I got this one in Nama, but it's not available there anymore. I think I payed around 6 € for it, maybe even more, I don't remember anymore.

On first photo I'm wearing Catrice eyeliner, on second Eveline and on third Essence eyeliner.

Here they're swatched on my hand. Each of them is applied in two coats.

From L to R: Essence Superfine Deep Black eyeliner Pen, Catrice cat eyes eyeliner pen Deep Black, Alverde gel eyeliner Extreme Black, Eveline Liquid Precision 2000 procent eyeliner, Essence Liquid Ink waterproof eyeliner, Catrice Ultra Fine Ink eyeliner Don't Move.

And here I am finally with the eyeliner tutorial. I'm still not 100% satisfied with it, but photos show my exact application technique. I usually wear winged eyeliner, it's my favourite. As you can tell from photos I posted in this post I never ever apply eyeliner exactly the same, it always looks different. Beside that I never apply the same line on both eyes, that's just impossible for me.
First I apply thin line from the middle to the end of my eye. I always start it the middle, I kinda find it easier that way. Then I start doing line in the inner part of my eye and I connect both lines in the middle. Next step is to do a wing. First I do short a line upward, then I connect the top of the wing with the line I did before and I fill it. Don't worry, if it doesn't look perfect, because you can still correct it. And that is the final step before I apply a mascara. It can also happens that I'm correcting it for so long that I do a very thick line. I'm correcting the line until it looks good enough and then I apply a mascara. In this tutorial I used Essence Liquid Ink waterproof eyeliner. I know my description is not the best, but photos can help you better.

Which eyeliner type is your favourite to use? Have you tried any of these eyeliners? Which eyeliner is your favourite and you recommend me to try it? Thank you for reading!

Birthday Post

Hello, ladies. If you follow me on Instagram, then you already know I had a birthday yesterday. I had a free day from work, because I worked few extra hours last week and my BF and I decided to spend the day more "active", not at home. I also planned a special post for my birthday yesterday, but I was so tired when we came at home, that I just didn't had any energy to write it. This post will be one of those random posts I use to write and I'll share a bit about my day with you.

This is my birthday manicure and I'm still wearing it. I got Models Own polishes last week and I had to do manicure with them. As a base I used Essie Blanc and for flowers Models Own Beach Bag, Flip Flop and Bikini.

I knew I can't combine my makeup with nails, because I wanted to use Makeup Revolution Hot Smoked palette, which has such amazing shades and I love it. In the end I did a purple look with it. I wanted to wear pink lips with this look, but we went for a lunch and I thought soft lipstick is a better idea, because any kind of lipstick would dissapear from my lips during the lunch anyway, so in the end I went with Makeup Revolution Love a Hug.

And here we are, my love and I.

We had lunch in chinese restaurant. I love chinese food and we haven't ate it for ever, so I decided already one month ago than we'll go there for my birthday, haha. I don't know all right expressions in English for all the food we ate, but we had soup, salad and I ate "fish plate" (squid, shrimp and European hake aka oslič - I'm not sure about right expression for last one).

Gift from my love and my nails. He got me a new wallet, because my old one was falling apart and I really needed a new one. He wanted to buy me some beauty products as well, but I said no, because at the moment there isn't anything I would want really badly. Lately I have a feeling that I come into a drugstore and nothing really catches my eyes. Do you ever feel the same way?

We also had ice coffee aka coffee and ice cream. Usually when you order ice coffee in coffeehouse, they bring you coffee and ice cream mixed together, but this time we got both separately. But it was tasty anyway.

In the end we had a little trip to Bad Radkersburg. I was there so many time doing shopping in Bipa and DM, but never went to see the centre of the city. It's a small city, but very interesting to walk through. It has many sights to see.

I really had amazing day yesterday. I hope you like this post. It's a bit different from usually beauty stuff, but I know you like random posts and unfortunatelly I just don't post them so often anymore. Thank you for reading!
