My Fight Against Dry Skin

Winter time is not very friendly time to my skin, especially to my face and hands. I'm always on a hunt to try new products, but when I find something that really works, I stick to that product for a very long time. Today I want to share with you few product, that I really like and work great for dry skin. I don't use them only during winter, but also in summer time. I'm going to start with face product, continue with lip and hand products and finish with body products.

Balea Aqua Serum
My holy grail product. I'm buying it for years now and it's really works for me. I use it in the morning and also in my night rountine. Two pumps are enough for a whole face. At the beginning it gives nice fresh feeling to my face and after few minutes when it absorbs, it makes my skin soft and it helps to mousturize it. It's very light product and in summer I sometimes use it alone, because it feels enough moisturizing for my skin. It's available in DM for around 3€.

 Weleda Skin Food
First I read about this products on Živa's blog and then Fleur the Force recommended it in her video, so I had to buy it. It's a thicker product with a strong herbal scent, that works great on dry skin. For few days I was using it instead of night cream and my skin was so soft and good looking in the morning, but then I got few pimples on my forehead, so I started to use it only around my nose area, which is the most dry part on my face and it really helps, the skin is mousturized and soft in the morning. You can actually use this products on other parts of your body as well.  I bought it in DM for 10€.

Mixa Anti-dryness Cream with 10% glycerine
Mixa is a new brand for me. For the beginning I decided to try their face cream. There are three questions on the back of the packaging and if you answer on two yes, the cream is great for you. Because I answered on all three question yes, I took cream with 10% glycerin. I have to say I'm really satisfied with it, it mousturizes my skin perfectly and it's also great as a base for makeup. It soaks into skin very quickly and it doesn't leave it shiny as many other creams. I bought it in DM for 6,5€.

Maybelline Baby Lips Hydrate
This is definitely my favourite lip balm at the moment. It moisturize my lips great and it also has very pleasant scent. But if you have big problems with lips it won't help you, because it doesn't cure, it just moisturizes lips. I bought it in Müller for 2,5€.

Melem Natural Protective All-purpose Skin Balm
This is actually all purpose thicker cream. Before I got Weleda I was using it around my nose area and it worked great. I also use it on my lips after I do peeling on them, because it's great for mousturizing. I actually got this product in a giveaway, but I think Melem brand is available in Müller's in Slovenia.

Balea Handlotions
These are definitely my favourite to use. They are light, soak fast into skin and leave skin soft and moisturize. I have one on my desk near me and I use it when I feel that my hands need to be moisturized. But beware. This products is very light, so if you have very very dry skin on your hands it might won't help you. At the moment I have three scents: San Francisco, Blueberry and Sheabutter Arganoil (which is almost empty). They are available in DM for around 2,5€.

Essence Gel Nails and Home Cream and 2in1 Hand&Nail Balm
I really like Essence creams. Beside nice scents they're also very moisturizing. Essence creams are thicker than Balea lotions and they need a bit more time to soak in, but they work great. Ok, I do have dry skin on my hands, but not extreme dry, so if you need something richer I suggest you to try Balea Q10+Omega or Vitaskin cream (these are the richest I tried, but as I said I don't have extreme drys skin of my hands). I don't know how much these two cost, because I got them on Essence event, but their creams are usually very cheap, so they are probably around 2€.

Lush Lemony Flutter
Another holy grail product of mine. It's a butter for nail cuticles and it works perfectly. It smells like lemons and you need to use only tiny bit of product. It melts when it touches the skin and it needs a bit more time to soak into the skin. I use it through all day and then before I go to sleep I apply bigger amount of product, wait few minutes that it soaks (I usually watch series when I do that) and then I go to bed. In the morning I wake up with moisturized cuticles. I also noticed that if I have damaged cuticles, it helps to recover them faster.  You get 50g of products for 10€ in Lush and it will last you for a very long time.

Balea Body Butter Lemon
Body lotion and butters are something I really don't use often, because I forget about them. But more than lotions I actually like body butters. It's true that they are thicker, harder to spread all over the skin and need a bit more time to soak it, but I really don't mind that. Balea has few body butter scents, but lemon is my favourite. It just smells so fresh.. And also prize is amazing, they are only 2€.

Balea Welness Fuss Butter
I admit that now in winter I neglect this product, but in summer time I was using it all the time. It's butter, so it's thicker and I used it only before going to sleep, but I waited that it soaked in, otherwise it was all over my sheets. In the morning I always woke up with soft feet. It smells like lemons and mint, but mint scent is dominating and I didn't like that much, but I got use to it. The price is around 3€.

So, these are few products I really like and work great for me. Have you try any of them? Which products do you use to moisturize your skin? Do you have any specially recommendations, which products should I try? Thank you for reading!

Bourjois Amande Défilé

I went through folders on my computer, in which I have photos for blog and I found swatches of this Bourjous nail polish. Because spring is coming and this polish is still available in stores, I decided to post it today. This is a Bourjois Amande Défilé polish from So Laque Glossy collection.

I got this nail polish as a birthday gift and because I have birthday in spring, I felt in love with the color immediately. It's such a gorgeous bright green shade. Well, but it ends here. The formula is very sheer. First I thought that this is a jelly polish, but it's not, it just has a watery formula.
When I applied very thin coats I needed at least 4 coats to make it opaque, but if I applied thicker coats, the formula was just too runny and sometimes polish ended on my cuticles. But with thicker coats I needed only 3 coats to make it opaque. Too bad because of the formula, because this polish has a flat brush, which would made the application a blast with better formula. Dry it looks very glossy even without a top coat. Drying time it depends from thickness of coats, thinner they are faster they dry.
So, shade and brush are really nice, but formula is just meh. These polishes contain 10 ml and the price is around 7-8€. I also wanted a lilac polish from So Lacque Glossy collection, but formula of Amande Défilé disappointed me just too much to give 7 or 8€ for another shade.

Have you tried any polish from So Lacque collection? What do you think of this one? Thank you for reading!

Beauty Women Cosmic

Or better title would be: My boyfriend made me buy this polish. The other day we went to Tedi, where I bought few random stuff and at the cashier's desk there was a little nail polish stand and he said: "Look, nail polishes. Won't you buy any?" And I was like: "No." And he showed me the purple one and said: "Look, this one is very pretty, you should buy it. It's only 1 €." And I had to listen to my boy. The funny thing is that I don't even wear purple polishes a lot. But for my darling I decided to give it a go.

The polish is called Beauty Women Cosmic. It's a darker purple shade with pink and golden shimmer (but pink one is dominating). In the bottle it looks a bit duochome, but that isn't visible on nails. Although the shade is pretty, the formula is not that good. It's so sheer, I needed 4 coats for these swatches, because after three my nail line was still visible. Otherwise it applys very nicely for such a cheap nail polish. Four coats also mean longer drying time.

What can I say, it's pretty, but it's definitely not to be worn alone. It must be layered and that way it looks much better. Here I applied one coat of Beauty Women Cosmic over two coats of Rimmel Blue My Mind. The shimmer is very noticeable when this polish is layered and I like that. In combination with Rimmel polish it looks amazing. I haven't wore it alone, but I wear this combination as my full manicure and it lasted two days on my nails. I have no idea how long it lasts alone, but I'll probably wear it only layered, because four coats are just too much. Otherwise Beauty Women polishes contain 12 ml and are available in Tedi for 1€.

Have you tried Beauty Women nail polishes before? What do you think of this one? Thank you for reading!

Random Sunday #46

It's been a month since my last Random Sunday post, so I think it's time to gather all photos made in last month together and show them to you.

This year we didn't had such a long winter and so many snow as last year, but it was a crazy winter. After few days of snowing it started to rain and we had little ice age in Slovenia. Many people didn't had electricity and everything was frozen. It was crazy. :(
And although I'm not a fan of winter and snow, nature actually looks very nice covered with snow on a sunny day.

A winter selfie. I posted this  makeup look this week on my blog (HERE).

One very old manicure. Essence Blue Addicted over Essence The Boy Next Door.

One selfie collage. I admit, since I started creating more makeup looks and taking photos each day (for 365 day photo challenge), I do a lot of selfies. :P

And one black and white selfie. :P

Home made bread. It's actually called "vrtanek", but I have no idea how to translate this word in English. I don't eat bread a lot, but I adore home made "vrtanek", my mom knows how to make a really tasty one. :D

A photos of Ris when he was a little guy. He was so cute.

And few more photos of our big boy.

I was making a pudding cake the other day. It was delicious. The recipe you can find of Pink Diamond's blog.

My darling took me to Chinese restaurant on V-day. I really like chinese food, I should try to prepare some at home sometimes. In the end we got plum wine as V-day gift from restaurant, but I don't like its taste.

And I had a little shopping spree this month. Moja drogerija had a discount on Sleek products, so I took two blushes and a Face Form in Fair. I tried Pomegranate the other day and omg, this is what a call a great pigmentation. I needed just a tiny bit of product and it already gave nice color to my cheeks.

I finally got my first Real Techniques brush. I wanted Expert Face brush for so long and since my Ebelin brush isn't good anymore I needed a great replacement. I want to thank Tinna's Pink Place to help me order RT brush (and Elf kit) on iHerb.
I also bought makeup sponge in Tedi along with Beauty Woman nail polish in shade Cosmic. Swatch of a polish will be on my blog next week and my first impression of makeup sponge will be posted in New In post in next few days.
I also got two Essence Stay With Me glosses. They are discontinued and I really like them, so I decided to get few before they're gone (specially because lately I like to wear lip glosses over lipsticks, if I wear glossy lips).

Frozen Series: Makeup Inspired by Anna

I had to do a post in Frozen series dedicated to Anna, because along with Elsa and Olaf she's my favourite in the movie. Anna doesn't wear any makeup in the movie, so I decided do to a look inspired by her dress. She wears the dress from first photo most of the time in movie and it looked like an interesting color combination, so I decided to try to create something with these colors on my eyes. Well, in the end I was very satisfied with the final look.

The bottom of her dress is blue, the top is black with golden belt and sleeves are mint. She also wears pink mantle. So I combined all these colors - blue on inner and outer part of my lids and in crease, pink in the middle of the lid, the combination of blue and mint on lower lashline and the combination of black and golden for winged eyeliner. The blush I used is Maybelline 501, but I applied it very soft, so that it looks soft reddish on cheeks and that look is very close to my natural blushing. On lips I used my new Rimmel Apocalips in shade Celestial, which is a soft coral shade and I really like it, it's actually a perfect shade for every day.

Products I used:
*Face

- Essence Stay All Day Longlasting Concealer 02 Soft Beige

S-he Stylezone 340

Some time ago I was browsing on Zebra nails blog and came across swatches of S-he Stylezone 340 nail polish. I couldn't find it on S-he Stylezone stand anymore, but last Friday I found it in a basket with discontinued products and I had to grab it.

I'm not huge fan of S-he nail polishes. Since they changed the packaging, they changed the formula as well and it's horrible. Old polishes had much better formula and much prettier color palette. New polishes have horrible formula - it's too thick or too runny. Beside that colors aren't anything special. Except this one - it has a great formula and amazing color.

340 (gosh, I wish this beauty would have a name) is a gorgeous olive green shade with golden shimmer. Its formula it's luckily not too thick ot too runny and it applys nicely. It's opaque in two coats. The shimmer is nicely visible in daylight or under direct artificial light, but otherwise in the evening when it becomes more dark it looks mostly dark green. But it has one big minus - it chips very fast. Ok, on me all polishes chip fast, but this one chips extremely fast. I wore it for only few hours and it already chipped. Not even top coat made it last longer. Usually polishes last at least one whole day before they start chipping (unfortunatelly I have that kind of nails). Oh, well ... S-he polishes cost 2,75 €. This one was less than 1€, because it's discontinued. But luckily I still got it before it will be completely gone.

What do you think of this polish? Do you like it or not? Thank you for reading!
