Born Pretty Store Dotting Tools Set Review

Five manicures made with same tool, that I'm going to review today - a dotting tool set that I received from Born Pretty Store to create some nail art manicures.

In the set I received 5 double sized dotting pens. Holders are made from wood and a dotting part from metal. I find these pens very sturdy and good quality. They are easy to work with and they enable you to do many different nail art designs: from simple dots to more complicated designs. Wanna do some easy flower design? Not a problem. Maybe a leopard print? Easily done. I even made sunflowers with the smallest sized dotting tool. But not everything is great about this set. I admit I expected I'll get 10 different sizes, but many of them are similar, so there are actually only 4 different sizes of dotting tools. In the end that means that 2 double sized pens would be enough. But for someone who's into nail art as much as I am these will be really handy and useful. How I use them? I drop few drops of nail polish on a paper, dip dotting tool into a polish and then I do a selected design. Because dotting part is made out of metal, is very easy to clean. I pour a bit of nail polish remover on a cotton pad and then wipe the dotting part with it. This set is available on Born Pretty Store for $4.74 (3,59€).

And here are separated photos of manicures I created.

A flower tutorial that's very easy to do: First paint your nails with selected color. Then use dotting tool and another color and make four dost for a flower. Then use a yellow shade for a carpel. In the end use a top coat to seal your manicure and you're done.

What do you think of manicures I created with these dotting tools? Would you try them? Thank you for reading!

The Secrets of Blogging Tag

You know when you already have written post and you just need to take photos, but when you take them and transfer on computer, they end to be a crap? Well, it's that kind of day. For today I had in mind another tag post, but since photos didn't succeed, I'm posting other one, for which I luckily have the most questions already answered (well, let's just say crappy photos didn't increase my inspiration for blogging). Mateja from Mateja's Beauty Blog tagged me to do The secrets of blogging tag and here are my answers.

1. When did you start blogging and why?
I started blogging back in 2010, because it seemed like a good hobby. I had a poetry blog before, but my inspiration felt on minimum and I didn't write poems anymore, so I closed that blog and opened a new, personal one on 1. 2. 2010. At the beginning I was publishing random stuff and had a different name (Sanje so večne or Dream are eternal). Soon I discovered beauty blogs and in July I posted my first beauty post. It was a haul post. I officially celebrate blogaversary in Februar, although my first beauty post was posted in July. Later I changed the name of my blog in Taya, because previous name didn't suit the content anymore.

2. How many people in "real life" know about your blog?
From my closest people only my boyfriend. My family doesn't really understand all beauty related stuff and my father doesn't really support my beauty obsession. Not like I care. I love makeup and I'll keep buying and using it, no mather what he says. Then few friends who liked my page on Facebook know, but otherwise I don't like to brag myself with my blog. I am proud on my blog and I love blogging, but I'm kinda too shy to talk about it in "real life".

3. What are your favourite posts to read?
I love nail art posts and posts with makeup looks. These two are my favourites, also because they are very inspirational. I also like all other beauty related posts, like empties, new in, disappointing products etc.

4. List a blog you have discovered recently.
Telling the truth I haven't discover any new blog lately. August was a very hectic month for me and I barely had time to read blogs I follow, what even to discover new blogs.

5. Which posts are you most proud of?
Why do you have to ask a beauty blogger this question? I'm proud on every post on this blog, even the first ones, which are bad. But that only shows how much better my blog became. My blog grew a lot in these four years and I grew with it. From the latest ones I want to expose Nail Polish Shades Every Girl Should Have for Summer. In nail series I'm also proud on How To: Prevent Bubbling post. Posts that have to be mention are previews of a whole year on my blog, because I usually spend the most time ever to write them (Year 2012 on Taya My Little Beauty World Blog, Year 2013 on Taya My Little Beauty World Blog). I'm also very proud on every single nail art and makeup tutorial I did. I won't expose any nail art manicure, because there are many beloved ones, but I will mention few favourite makeup looks: Purple and Silver New Year's Look (+Tutorial), FOTD: Inspired By Winter 2, Frozen Series: Makeup Inspired by Anna.

6. What advice would you give to future bloggers?
First thing first, start blogging from the right reason. That is that you love beauty related stuff and you want to share them with other people. Lately many bloggers open a new blog just because they want to get free stuff. I think that's pointless because people will quickly notice what's your true reason of blogging (that is getting free stuff) and will stop reading your blog. I know I stopped reading some blogs because girls always published only PR stuff (and it was obvious that they ask for them theirselves) and their blog is not as interesting as from many other bloggers, that blog with passion.
Big photos. Please, post big photos. There's nothing more irritating than small photos of swatches and you have to click on every single one to make it bigger.
Writing is one of the most important things by blogging for me. There are many beautiful and easy to read writings, such as Times New Roman, Georgia, Calibri. Please, don't use writings as Comic Sans, etc. because they are so irritating to read. Often it happens that I don't read a blog if it's not written in a "normal" writing. Maybe I read it, if it's short, but if it's long, definitely not.
Be true to yourself in every aspect of blogging. I think that's the most important advice I can give you. Maybe some people won't like the way you write or types of posts you post, but who cares. As long as you're happy with content of your blog and what you do. That's the most important part of blogging - loving it and enjoying in it.
More advices could be written about blogging, but I'll end here. Read Mateja's, Petra's, Sara's and Sanja's post for more advices. I agree with advices they've written in their posts.

I won't tag anyone, but if you like this tag, feel free to do it. Thank you for reading!

NOTD: Geometric Neon Nails

Some time ago I shared  green nails on my Instagram geometric and a lot of people liked it. It was my first Instagram post, that received more than 100 likes, so I thought I'd share a tutorial for it with you. I didn't want to use same colors, so I used neons instead. As a base I used Essie Blanc and to color triangles Models Own Bikini and Flip Flop

This design is very easy to do. All you need is a striping tape, few polishes and some patience. First you paint your nails with selected color. It doesn't have to be white, but I personally find it for a best base, specially because I used neons. Wait that the base color drys completely. You can also use fast drying top coat, so that it'll dry faster. Meanwhile cut pieces of striping tape. You'll need two for each nail (it depends from you, how many nails will you do). When the base color is completely dry, place striping tape on your nails, so that two pieces cross. Then take nail polish(es) and fill triangles. You can use only one color (then you just paint your nails regular), two like me or even more. When all triangles are coloured, carefully remove striping tape. In the end apply a top coat to seal your manicure and you're done.

What do you think of this desing? Will you try it? Thank you for reading!

FOTD: Pop of Orange

For this look I didn't plan to do a separate post, but I like it so much, that I had to post it today. Yesterday I was testing some of new products I got lately and which I plan to review in the future. I created a bit more fall alike look, but with a touch of bright color.

If I start with the eye, I use a whole bunch of eyeshadows. I started with Essence I Love Stage eyeshadow primer. Then I used Maybelline Color Tattoo Pomegranate Punk in outer two thirds of my lid. Then I used eyeshadow There is Always a Way Back from Makeup Revolution Dia de los Muertos in crease and blend it. After that I took my favourite fall palette Sleek Vintage Romance and applied first A Wow in Venice and then Bliss in Barcelona over Maybelline eyeshadow. In outer V I used brown definer eyeshadow from Wet n Wild palette Comfort Zone. The same eyeshadow I used on lower lashline. In inner corner of my eye and on first third of my lid I first applied NYX Milk jumbo pencil as a base for orange eyeshadow to make it brighter and pop out more. Orange eyeshadow is from Sleek Acid palette. On browbone I used Lift Me Up! highlighter from Essence How to Make Brows Wow, which is probably the best feature of this palette. On my brows I used the darkest eyeshadow Love Brunettes, which is the only shade that suits me well. Eyeliner is Alverde gel eyeliner Extreme Black and mascara Essence I Love Volume.

I have Catrice All Matt Plus foundation in shade 020 Nude Beige, which I like a lot, but it's too dark for me. The other day I purchased Makeup Revolution The One foundation in shade 1, which is a white foundation. I mixed it with Catrice foundation to make a matching shade for my skin tone and it actually came out pretty amazing. Under my eyes and around my nose I applied my favourite concealer Essence Stay All Day in shade Soft Beige. On my cheeks I used Alverde Jungle Fever bronzer, Essence Ap-ri(c)ot blush and Terra Naturi Golden Highlight. On my lips I applied Deborah Milano gloss in shade 14.

What do you think of this look? Thank you for reading!

My Summer Essentials

There wasn't much of a summer this year in our country. It's not like I love heat, but what I do love is sun. A lot of sunny and bright days. Despite not having a real summer here and that in less than a month there will be officially a fall, I decided to share with you few of products that I was using and most of them also loved a lot this summer.

Sun protection
I bought few products to protect my skin from sun, but in the end I didn't spend much time in the sun. I was working a lot or it was raining etc. On my face I was using Sun Dance Ultra Sensitive fluid with SPF 50. I used it few times and although it does protect skin nicely, I'm not really a huge fan. First, it takes for ever to soak into the skin. Second, it's quite sticky, which makes it inappropriate as a base for makeup. And third, when you sweat big time, the sweat just removes it from the face. I didn't like that, because the main reason I bought it was to use it when I'll work outside (like cutting the grass and similar). But when I was using it in "normal" occasions, meaning no sweating and no wearing makeup, it worked great. After it sank into the skin, it protected it great from the sun. On my body I was using Sun Dance Transparent spray with SPF 30. I do like this one a lot. It smells like most of sun cream sand it's very easy to use. I noticed that when I used it my skin was tanning evenly and slow. The last product is my favourite in the bunch. It's Sun Dance Fresh Apres Spray, which I use after sunbath. This product smells soooo amazing, like pineapple. At the beginning when you spray it it feels very refreshing on the skin, but this feeling doesn't last really long. But on the other hand the scent stays on the skin for ever and it also moisturizes it nicely.

Preventing sweating and bad smell
Deodorants are a must have products for ever person during a whole year, but specially during the summer. This summer I discovered a very good deodorant that works for me like none of them before - Rexona Long Lasting Protection Shower Clean deodorant. It has a bit too strong scent, that often end in my mouth, but otherwise it's the best soldier again sweat and bad scent.

Good looking legs
In reality my legs don't look good at all, but using Balea Raisergel Summer Garden and Venus razor at least prevents me to look like orangutan. Just kidding. But it's not a secret that I love Balea shaving gels, since they don't irritate my skin or make it red. Venus razor is the best razor I tried. I tried many others before, but none of them worked as good as Venus. In summer I like to use Balea Feet Peeling, which is very gentle peeling and because of that some will may think it doesn't work good, but it works good enough for me. My feet always feel great and soft after usage.

Light moisturizers and glowy skin
When it's very very hot I love to use only Balea Aqua serum on my face, because it's very light moisturizer and most of the time is enough for a day routine. Since this summer was a bit colder than usually I had to use face cream too. I was using Green Line face cream for normal skin and I also like Mixa face cream, both give a skin a matte look. In the summer it's important to moisture hands as well. Balea hand lotions are definitely perfect products for that, because they are very light and sink into the skin fast.
I admit I'm not a huge fan of body lotions, so Nuxe dry oil was an amazing solution to moisturize my skin during the summer. It's not greasy, sinks into the skin quickly and it gives it a nice shine. In the summer I love to use body lotions with tiny shimmer that gives a nice glow to tanned skin. At the moment I'm using Culeur Caramel Shimmery Body lotion, but I don't use it very often, mostly when I go out in the evening.

Glowy and shimmery face
This summer I love glowy effect on my face as well. I love to use Bourjois Healthy Mix serum in shade Light Vanilla as a foundation, because it's very light. As a primer or a product mixed with my foundation I love L'Oreal Lumi Maqique base. It definitely helps to foundation to stay longer on my face. A must have summery makeup product for me is Sleek Rose Gold blush from Face Form kit. It contains golden shimmer that gives a nice sheen to my cheeks and that's why I love it a lot. Because of that I mostly don't use highlighter at all. Of course I use this kit for contouring as well. On my eyes I wore Wet n Wild Comfort Zone palette most often and here you can see my go to summer look. I don't use waterproof mascaras, because I don't think they give much volume, so I use Essence I Love Extreme mascara in summer as well.

Bright matte lips
On my lips I loved bright and matte colors all summer long. I completely felt in love with Bourjois Rouge Velvet Edition lipsticks when I tried Ping Pong as first lipstick from this collection, so with time I purchased three more shades: Frambourjoise, Peach Club and Nude-ist! These are really amazing!

Neon nails
My biggest love - neon nail polishes. I have them quite a lot and I love each one of them, although there are few that I wear more often than others: GT Cosmetics No 2 and Models Own Polish for Tans polishes (Bikini, Flip Flop and Beach Bag). If you want to see my manicures with them, check out my Instagram profile.

Must have essentials
Last two products are must have products in my bag. First is Catrice Mattfying Oil Control Paper, which is specially handy when I wear makeup. It helps me to remove sweat from my face without smudging my makeup. Next are Essence Minis2go hand&body wipes. These are handy for many things like removing swatches from your hand in drugstore, cleaning your hands ...

Which were your summer essentials? Thank you for reading!

NOTD: Pineapple

I love pineapple. Not just its taste, but also its scent. I can say I'm completely obsessed with shower gels that smell like pineapple (thank you, Balea). The other day I got the idea to create pineapple design on my nails as well and since I love how it came out, I decided to post it on my blog (lately I don't post much nail art here anymore). I did a skittle manicure. On my pinkie I used two coats of Sally Hansen Pacific blue. On ring finger I first applied 2 coats of Essie Blanc and then I used Essence Yeah, Copacabana, Essence I am a Viator and Models Own Bikini to draw pineapples. I did the same on my thumb. On middle finger I used two coats of Yes Love G11-6, which is a gorgeous neon glittery polish. On my index finger I first applied 2 coats of Essie Blanc and then I used striping tape, which I placed on my nail vertically. Over it I applied Sally Hansen Pacific Blue. I got many compliments on this design, which make me even prouder on it.

What do you think of my nails art? Do you like pineapple as much as I do, too? Thank you for reading!

Makeup Revolution Love etc

Let's talk about Makeup Revolution nail polish Love etc today, shall we? I wasn't really excited when I received this nail polish, because, as you probably know by now, I'm not a fan of pink color on nails. It took me quite a while before I tried this polish, but because I received it for a review, I owe my opinion about it.
Love etc is a classic pink nail polish. The formula is ok, although the polish is on a sheerer site. I did use two coats, because first one was thinner and second thicker, but if I'd use all thin layers I'd have to apply 3 coats. It has a cream finish and it drys quite quickly. I can't say how long it last, because I didn't wear it as a full manicure. Many bloggers commented about bad brush. At first I was wondering why, but with second layer I knew the answer. The brush really disables nice and even application. Using the technique with a brush and a nail polish remover to make the smoothest line near the cuticle is necessary. I'm planning to do a post how I apply a nail polish soon (hopefully next week), because this post was requested.
You can get Makeup Revolution nail polishes in Makeup Revolution store for £1.00 and on Lič for 1,95€. They have around 40 cream shades, although I find them pretty standard and someone with a bigger stash won't really find new and interesting shades for her. They will probably be interesting to someone, who has a small collection and doesn't want to spend too much money on a nail polish.

Have you tried Makeup Revolution polishes? What do you think of them? Thank you for reading!

NOTD: Lotus Design

August is a hectic month for me. This weekend we organised a big project, called Turizem na Koušto, that lasted for three days and for which we worked two months like crazy and this week we have a camp for kids from 6 to 10 years. It's so much fun, but it's very exhausting. I really miss regular blogging, specially because I have so many ideas, and beside that also a lot of requests for post. This week I decided to post mostly manicures, because they take less time to write and during the weekend I'll be back with regular blogging, that means reviews, I have to write two tags, few comparison posts etc. I don't remember when was the last time I took photos for my blog (if I don't count nails). Another thing I need to take time for.

When I received Lotus designed stickers from Born Pretty Store I was really excited, because I love this design and I thought they will be the same as nail art stickers K1009, which I just transferred on my nails and manicure was done in few minutes. Well, the story with lotus stickers was different, because these are water decals, which means I first had to trim them by the shape of a nails, put them in the water for few seconds and them placed them on nail. I painted my nails with mint nail polish before I placed water decals on them. The application was not the best, because they are very thin and because of that they were hard to place on a nail and when I wanted to filed the excess decal, it moved because it didn't stick very well. If you're going to use water stickers on your nails, I recommend drying them before filling the excess away, because when they dry, they stay on nails. Mint polish I used here is Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet. On two nails I also added two Essence studs, because lately I'm really love wearing them and using them with my nail art.

These water decals are available on Born Pretty Store site for $1.99. Don't forget to use my discount code if you're going to shop there, because when it'll be use two times more they'll sponsor a giveaway on my blog. :)

Review and Swatches: Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoother + Comparison with Clarins Lip Perfector

Catrice has made a Beautifying lip smoother, a dupe for Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector. I think there will be 3 shades available since fall, but in current preview collection that's available in Müller you can get 2 shades. I decided to get shade 030 Cake Pop

Lip smoother comes in a plastic tube in a color of lip smoother's shade and it has a sponge applicator. I don't find it as soft as Clarins one, but still application is easy and even. When you squeeze the tube, the product comes out. At the beginning it takes a bit time or better say squeezing before product comes out, but after that the usage is simple.
Catrice Cake Pop is a peachy-coral shade. Lip smoother is quite sheer and when it's applied it gives my lips a shine and a bit of color. It looks very natural. Some people say that it makes their lips look fuller, but telling the truth I don't notice any difference on my lips. The same as Clarins Instant Nature Lip Perfector this one is also a hybrid between a lip balm and a lipgloss. It's creamy, glossy, moisturizing and not sticky. The color wears off quickly, while moisturizing feeling lasts a bit longer. It doesn't survive a meal and it wears off a bit while drinking, but not completely. Since is moisturizing, it doesn't emphasize dry patches on my lips and it doesn't smudge or anything. It has a very strong sweet scent and the taste is also sweet.

Catrice lip smoother contains 9 g of product and I payed 3,79 € in Müller. I do think this is quite a good product for this price. Maybe the only downside it that all 3 shades look similar on lips (as you can see on Innen und Aussen blog).

Comparison of Catrice lip smoother and Clarins lip perfector
Catrice lip smoother and Clarins lip perfector are practically the same thing, despite the different name. By my opinion they are both a hybrid bewtween a lipgloss and a lip balm.
Packaging: Packaging is the same. The tube in a shade of product with a spongy applicator. But I did notice that Clarins has softer applicator.
Quantity: Clarins contains 12 g of product, while Catrice only 9 g.
Price: Clarins costs around 20 € and you can get Catrice for less than 4 €.
Color selection: Clarins lip perfector is available in 6 shades, while Catrice only in 3 shades.
Formula: They have similar creamy and sheer formula, but I do find Clarins a bit more creamier than Catrice. They are both moisturizing, apply smooth and even, last similar time on my lips and both give my lips a natural shiny look. Both smell sweet, but Catrice has a stronger scent and taste. I also noticed that Catrice feels a bit heavier on lips than Clarins.
Conclusion: If a conclude, Clarins is better, but differences are minimal and Catrice is definitely a very good dupe for it. If you're on a budget, I'd say get Catrice and not Clarins. Clarins is for you, if you really adore that kind of product and you don't mind paying more money for it. I personally find Clarins too expensive, specially for a lip balm/gloss, that wears off quickly. Beside that I prefer Catrice shade and lately I wear it all the time. It's great every day product and I personally would (re)purchase Catrice rather than Clarins.

Have you tried Catrice lip smoother yet? What do you think of it? What about Clarins, which product do you find better? Thank you for reading!

Insta Nails

If you follow my blog from the beginning, then you know I was mostly a nail blogger since I started this blog. But lately I don't post much about my nails and telling the truth I have no idea why is that, because I paint my nails regular and I still enjoy doing nail art. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I don't post that often anymore and that I have many other ideas for blog posts. But I often share my manciures on Instagram and because I know not all of my readers have Instagram, I decided to collect manicures I posted there and showed them to you in one post. The quality of photos isn't as good as it would be if photos would be taken with my camera, because I mostly take them with my phone.
