Festive New Year's Eve Look (+Tutorial)

Hello, everyone! On the last day of this year I'm posting another NYE inspired makeup look with a tutorial. I was planning to wear this one today, but then I got inspired from Maja (Pink Mascara) to wear green smokey look. I have very gorgeous green shade from Catrice, which looks amazing on lids.
This look is more on a brown side and it's definitely perfect for those, who don't like to wear colors on their eyes. I decided to use Sleek Storm palette for this look, because it has gorgeous shade and I was neglecting it too much this year. I mostly used eyeshadow from this palette and 2 Catrice mono eyeshadows.

First I used Essence I Love Stage eyeshadow primer and then I applied Catrice My First Copperware Party eyeshadow in crease and blend it on my browbone. Then I applied black eyeshadow in my outer V and blend it (also in crease).

After that I used brown eyeshadow (shade 7) from Sleek palette, applied it in the middle of my lid and blend it into a black shade. After that I used rosy toned eyeshadow (shade 5) and applied it in inner corner of my eyes. On my lower lashline I first applied brown eyeshadow (shade 7).

Then I applied a black eyeshadow on outer 1/3 of my lower lashline and blended it into a brown shade. As a highlighter in my inner corner I used beige eyeshadow (shade 2) from Sleek Storm palette and under my brow Catrice Ice White Open. In the end I lined my eye with black eyeliner, applied black eye pencil on my waterline and used a mascara.

And this is the final result. Sorry for crapy photo, but when I was taking it, the sun already went down and tge light was horrible already, so photos of my eye weren't the best quality. This one was actually the only one, that succeed.

I made eyes darker, because it's a night look (altough I adore it as a day look as well). As always my liner is thicker, but I adore it that way. You can of couse adjust it and make it thinner or use a black eyeshadow as liner. I combined this look with berry lips, because in December I did looks mainly with red lips and it's a welcome change.

Purple and Silver New Year's Eve Look (+Tutorial)

Hello, everyone! It's New Year's Eve tomorrow. I'm actually not very excited about this day, to me it's like every other day, I'm probably going to spend it at home watching movies, but what I'm excited about is doing festive makeup. For few years now I'm mostly at home (or BF's home) for New Year's Eve, but I always do my makeup, because I enjoy in it. Today and tomorrow I decided to share 2 looks with a tutorial with you to give you last minute ideas, if you still don't know, what to wear tomorrow. First look, that I'm going to show you, is a silver and purple look. As you can see, purple looks more greyish on photos and I have no idea, why is that so.

First I used Essence I Love Stage eyeshadow base. I like to use it, even if I use jumbo pencil as a base for eyeshadow as well, because it prevents my makeup from creasing. Then I applied Gorgeous Grey pencil all over the lid and blended it with my fingers. It doesn't look perfectly applied, because I used it as a base for silver eyeshadow - Pretty in Paris from Sleek Vintage Romance palette.

After that I used Catrice Shade of Grey, applied it in my crease and blend it out on my browbone. Then I used Bliss in Barcelona from Sleek Vintage Romance palette, applied it in crease and softly blended it, but not as high as Catrice eyeshadow. After that I applied Essence Alice Had a Vision - Again in outer V and blended it.

On my lower lashline I first used Essence pigment Alice Had a Vision - Again and then I blended it with Catrice Plum up the Jam eyeshadow. In my inner corner I applied Pretty in Paris eyeshadow and over silver eyeshadow on my lid Fleur de Sante Mercury pigment. As a highlighter under my brow I used Catrice Ice White Open eyeshadow.

In the end I used black pencil on my waterline, line my eye with Catrice eyeliner and used a mascara.

I was combining few lip shades with this look, but none really looked good to me, so in the end I decided to put a nude lisptick on. Although nude looks good with this look, I have a feeling, that there is a shade, that would go better with this look. What do you think, which shade would you combine with eyes?

Products I used:
*Face
- Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation 02 Vanilla
- Essence Stay All Day Longlasting Concealer 02 Soft Beige
- Essence Compact Powder Soft Beige
- Essence Metal Glam Gold Digger highlighting powder
- Essence Cherry Blossom Girl Asian Sensation blush
*Eyes
- Essence I Love Stage eyeshadow base
- Essence Stays No Matter What Gorgeous Grey eyepencil
- Sleek Vintage Romance palette (Pretty in Paris, Bliss in Barcelona)
- Catrice Plum up the Jam eyeshadow
- Catrice Shade of Grey eyeshadow
- Catrice Ice White Open eyeshadow
- Fleur de Sante Mercury pigment
- Essence Alice Had a Vision - Again pigment
- black kajal pencil from Catrice San Francisco palette
- Catrice Ink Waterproof Eyeliner Don't Move
- Essence I Love Extreme mascara
- Catrice Glamour Volume mascara
- Catrice eyebrow set (for brows)

*Lips
- Essence Natural Beauty

I also adjust this look a bit and made it more sparkly. I applied glittery She liner over black liner and I used red on my lips (Catrice Fatal  lip lacquer, which I dab on my lips with fingers). I prefer this look without glittery eyeliner, but I like red lips with this eye look. At the beginning I applied lip lacquer with a brush and it was too dark, maybe that's why I didn't like it with this look, softly dabbed on lips looks much better.

Do you already know, what makeup look will you wear tomorrow? Which look do you like better, first one or second one? Thank you for reading!

Random Sunday #44

Hello, everyone! I'm here today with my last Random Sunday for this year. At the beginning of this year I was still posting it frequently, but in second half of this year random posts became very rare, because I didn't take so much photos anymore, but I'll continue with Random Sunday posts in 2014 and I'll try to post them more often than once a month.

Our Christmas tree.

A little honey man. My mom was doing honey cookies, so I decided to be a bit creative. (In Slovene they're called "medenjaki", but they're not the same as gingerbread, so I can't call it a gingerbread man. It's honey man, because these cookies ae from honey, flour and eggs. :P)

Next day we did a bit more honey men. :)

My purchase from Destination Pretty. If you don't know, this shop is owned by Slovenian beauty blogger Sandra (The Puzzle of Sandra's Life) and it has some pretty cute stuff. I got Etude House blush in Grapefruit Jelly and you could see it on me in my last few posts, but in a week or so there'll be also a review of it.

Snowflake manicure. I wasn't the most satisfied with it, so I did another one for challenge post, but this one I decided to post in Random Sunday.

I wanted to post this manicure with title Santa Claus is coming to town, but in the end there wasn't enought time to post it (before Christmas, after that I didn't see a point of posting it). I even made a tutorial for each nail. Oh, well. At least you'll see it Random Sunday post.

And for the end my purchase from Essence Kalinka Beauty TE. I got blush East Side Story and polish Absolut Blue. I'm already trying both, so post will be in few days (probably in new year, because I'm planning some MU looks for New Year's in next 2 days).

Essie Winter Collection 2013 (Toggle to the Top and Mind Your Mittens)

Hello, everyone! Today I have for you my 2 new Essie nail polishes. As many Slovenian ladies know, DM send us  a coupon for 50 % discount on Essie polishes in November. I was lucky enough to get 2 coupons, so I got some polishes, a base coat and a top coat. 2 polishes I got were from Essie Winter 2013 collection and because they're limited edition, I decided to show them together today. I got Toggle to the Top and Mind Your Mittens.

You know that situation, when you see promo photos of one polish and you think you don't need it, but then you see it everywhere, on almost every single blog you follow and it grows on you? Yup, that's my relationship with Taglle to the Top. I though it's pretty, but I didn't want it, because I had one polish from Catrice, that looked similar to it, but after seeing it every day in December on more and more blogs, I compared some swatches and Catrice was more bright, so I decided try it myself in the end, too. I had one more coupon for Essie polishes and because it was only 5 €, I give it a go. I wear it on my nails right now and I have to say, it's pretty. It's not that WOW color, but it's pretty and I understand, why everyone is crazy about it.
Toggle to the Top has a dark red jelly base and brighter red glitter in it. The formula is pretty good. It's has a bit thicker formula than normally Essie polishes have it, but it's still easy to apply and it drys quickly. I applied 2 coats here. I can't say anything about the removal, because I'm still wearing it, but with the glitter you can always use a foil technique. A lot of people were complaining about this polish, that it's hard to apply and it has a chunky formula, but mine is good and I didn't had any problem with application or formula, so I guess it's probably different from bottle to bottle.

It drys matte, so you have to apply top coat, if you want it more shiny and I have to say, TC is mandatory with this polish, because in shiny version it looks much much better.

Next is Mind Your Mittens and if you ask me, this one is the most pretty in this collection. It's very dark grey shade, that looks almost black, but it's not black. It's a chameleon, because in some light it looks more blue and in some more green. It applys like a butter and it's opaque in 2 coats. Essie makes amazing creamy polishes and this one is not an exception. If you like darker polishes, I recommend you this one, I find it gorgeous.

I had my eye on Parka Perfect, too, but in the end I decided not to get it. Maybe I will buy it, if DM will have a sale of winter collection as it did had a sale of summer collection. I was really excited of Essie Holiday collection, but I'm not sure, we'll get it in Slovenia.

Do you like polishes from Essie Winter collection? What do you think about these two? Thank you for reading!

Christmas NOTD and FOTD

Hi, everyone! Today I have for you my NOTD and FOTD from yesterday, when it was Christmas. For nails I decided not to do a classic red (like I wore it last year), but to do a white and gold combination. I used Essie Blanc and Essence Joy to the World topper.

I love this combination and I definitely need to wear  white polish on my nails more often. Here are 2 photos with our Christmas tree behind.

I got Essie Blanc with a 50 % coupon. I was thinking for some time, if I should get it or not. I use white polish for a nail art a lot and I though Essie is just to expensive to use it for nail art and finish it in few months, so I decided I'll get it, but wear it only as my full manicure and for nail art designs I'll use tempera painting or cheaper white polish.
Essie Blanc is a perfect white creamy polish (it's not like She, which has more watery formula), applys a bit streaky, but with second or third coat (it depens, how thin coats you use), you can correct mistakes and make it look perfect. I used 3 thin coats here.

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, that look was an inspiration for my Christmas look. I didn't do it so dark, but I did it very sparkly. I did my lips red, but only for photos, because I used lipgloss and it went off, when I ate soup, so I just applied balsam on my lips after that.

I applied L'Oreal Bronze Goddess over a whole lid and then I used Paper Bag from Sleek Ultra Matts V2 palette in crease. Then I applied Romance in Rome from Sleek Vintage Romance palette in outer V and blend it in crease. Because I felt, like it isn't dark enough, I used Noir from Sleek Ultra Matts V2 palette and applied it over Romance in Rome. Under my eyes I used Orbit from Sleek Ultra Matts V2 palette and then blend it with Noir from same palette. In inner corner I applied Dune from Sleek Ultra Matts V2 palette and in the end I used She glittery liner and applied it all over the lid, in inner corner and on 1/3 of my lower lashline. As a highlighter under my brow I used Alverde Vanille.

Products I used:
*Face
- Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation 02 Vanilla
- Essence Stay All Day Longlasting Concealer 02 Soft Beige
- Essence Compact Powder Soft Beige
- Essence Metal Glam Gold Digger highlighting powder
- Etude House Grapefruit Jelly blush

 *Eyes:
- Sleek Ultra Matts V2 Darks (Orbit, Noir, Dune, Paper Bag)
- Sleek Vintage Romance (Romance in Rome)
- Essence I Love Stage eyeshadow base
- L'Oreal Bronze Goddess
- She glittery eyeliner
- Alverde Vanille
- black kajal pencil from Catrice San Francisco palette
- Essence I Love Extreme mascara
- Catrice eyebrow set (for brows)

*Lips
- Essence Coral Calling
- NYX True Red

Black and Gold Party Look

Hello, everyone! First of all, Merry Christmas. I hope you are having amazing day with your family. :)

I was talking about this look in yesterday's post already and I posted first photo on Facebook, where many of you liked and commented this look. I have to admit, I didn't expect such a response from you, probably because I wasn't most satisfied with this look. I wrote, that this look is a bit too dramatic for me to wear it outside, but many of you said, that I should wear it on the party, because it suits me well. Thank you for all of your kind words. :)

The main reason for this look was to practise cut crease (it's still not perfect, but I'm getting better). First I did a cut crease with black eyeshadow and blend it up on my browbone. Then I applied a golden-olive shade on my lids. After that I used the same black eyeshadow as before and line my eye with it and did a winged eyeliner, so that I connected it with black in my crease. I used the same black shade on my lower lashline as well. Then I used glittery eyeliner from She and applied it over golden-olive eyeshadow. In the end I applied some mascara, false lashes, black liner on waterline and Alverde Vanille eyeshadow under my browbone. On cheeks I used soft pinkish shade and on lips nude lip cream.

Products I used:
*Face
- Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation 02 Vanilla
- Essence Stay All Day Longlasting Concealer 02 Soft Beige
- Etude House Grapefruit Jelly blush

*Eyes
- Sleek Chaos (black shade)
- Essence I Love Stage eyeshdow base
- L'Oreal Bronze Goddess
- She glittery eyeliner
- Alverde Vanille
- black kajal pencil from Catrice San Francisco palette
- Catrice Glamour Volume mascara
- Catrice eyebrow set (for brows)

*Lips
- Essence Stay Matt Soft Nude lip cream

This look was also an inspiraton for my Christmas look. It's not the same, but pretty similar. More in tomorrow's post. Have a nice day! Thank you for reading!

Getting Ready for Christmas #10: Christmas Party

Hello, everyone! Today I have my last look for Getting Ready for Christmas challenge. Because it's called "getting ready for Christmas" I decided to finish it before Christmas. The last theme was Christmas party. I could do makeup and nails here, but I decided to do only makeup. First I had something else in mind, but it didn't came out as I planned (it was a bit too dramatic even for me, who likes darker looks), so I decided to do something else and what you see, is the final result. If you wonder, why I didn't do anything with my hair, is because I always wear them straight or in a bun. Sometimes I try to do curls, but they don't lasts very long, so I just wear them straight (as I would probably wear them for a party).

My idea was to do dark smoky look, but in the end everything looked more soft than I planned (and on photos everything looks even brighter). I was using mainly matte eyeshadows, but I didn't had any golden matte shade, so I used shimmery one. Now this shade steps out in this look. I was thinking to add a bit glitter on my lid, but I used studs and I though it will be too much. Studs are from nail art set from Essence Vintage District TE, that I bought at the beginning of this year. I decided to combine this look with red lips, but I'm not the most satisfied with my choise. I went with bright red, but I actually think, darker red would look better. First I applied Catrice It's a Matt World and then over it MeMeMe lipgloss in shade Intense.

Products I used:
*Face
- Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation 02 Vanilla
- Essence Stay All Day Longlasting Concealer 02 Soft Beige
- Essence Compact Powder Soft Beige
- Essence Metal Glam Gold Digger highlighting powder
- Etude House Grapefruit Jelly blush

*Eyes
- Essence I Love Stage eyeshadow base
- Sleek Ultra Matts V2 Dark palette (Noir, Paper Bag, Villain, Dune, Pillow Talk)
- Sleek Vintage Romance (Meet in Madrid, Propose in Prague)
- Alverde Vanilla
- black kajal pencil from Catrice San Francisco palette
- Essence I Love Extreme mascara
- Catrice Glamour Volume mascara
- Catrice Ink Waterproof Eyeliner Don't Move
- Essence Vintage District TE nail art kit (studs)
- Catrice eyebrow set (for brows)

*Lips
- Catrice It's a Matt World
- MeMeMe Intense lipgloss

I hope you like my last entry for Getting Ready for Christmas challenge! Thank you for reading!

Grinch Manicure (Collaboration with Deja Zu)

Hello, everyone! Today I have a special post for you, because this is my first collaboration post ever. I'm doing it with Deja Zu, who has a great blog, on which she posts a lot of makeup looks, which are my favourite on her blog, because she has amazing talent and I always admire her work. She searched for someone on Twitter, who would do a collaboration with her on a theme Grinch and I said, I'm willing to do a nail art. I love the movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas and the character Grinch, so I was really excited to do this nail art. Go and check her post here.

A close-up of a Grinch. It's not perfect, but I'm very satisfied, how it came out. I used some nail polishes and some tempera painting to draw him.

I knew, I want to do a Grinch on one nail, but I wasn't completely sure, what I'll do on other nails, so in the end I decided for a word Grinch on my thumb, a Christmas tree on my index finger, a present on my middle finger, because Whos are obsessed with them and on my pinkie a bag, in which Grinch put stolen presents. I used a whole bunch of polishes for this manicure and few tempera paintings: Essie Blanc, Barry M Blood Orange, Ruby Kisses Tropical Green, Essence Inti Inka, Stargazer 237, P2 Artful, Flormar 423 and un-named Vollare.

What do you think about my Grinch manicure? Thank you for reading!
