Recap: RETO 2013

Hi, girls! I usually do a recap of challenges I join, so RETO 2013 won't be exception. 12 weeks and 12 manicures.

I'm glad I joined this challenge, I really like manicures, I did for it. What do you think, which one is your favourite? Thank you for reading!

31 Day Challenge - Day 17: Glitter Nails

Hi, dear readers! Today I'll be short. I have for you next manicure for 31 day challenge. Day 17 are glitter nails and this time I didn't want to complicate. I did something very simple and when it comes to glitter, Essence Make It Golden is usually my first choise. I used Barry M coral shade from their limited/holiday edition collection 2 years ago, I think, which doesn't have a name, only number C. I really like this combination and because glitter isn't on tips or over a whole nail, it makes it even more special to me.

Which is your all time favourite glitter nail polish? What do you think about my combination? Thank you for reading!

I found full display of Essence High Heel Mania. I didn't bought anything, because nothing seemed interesting to me.

I bought 2 shades of new Maybelline Whisper lipsticks. Swatches will be published this week.

I finally found Milka with Smarties. Although these 2 are my favourite chocolates, I don't like them togehter.

My reading list this week.

DIY: Swatch Stickers

Hi, everyone! Some girls wanted to know more about my DIY project - swatch stickers, so here I have a post about it for you today. This project is very fun, but if you have so many polishes as I, is very time consuming. I won't show you my whole collection, because I haven't swatch it whole yet, but I'll show you my green polishes (green, teal, turquise, mint ...). I saw this idea for swatch stickers on Mateja's blog Purple Glitters and she helped me with advices, where to find stickers for ice cream, on which you can write nail polish names. I bought mine in Rayher shop in Murska Sobota. The seller was very kind and because I bought more stickers, he gave me a discount.

For this DIY project you'll need:
- stickers for ice cream
- false nails
- a glue
- a marker

When you have all that, you'll only need some time. As you can see on photos, I first glued false nails on stickers, until I didn't collect them about 100. I let them dry for about an hours, just in case, so that the glue would stick good together false nail and a sticker.

Then I wrote names of polishes on sticker. I used black non-alcohol marker, which worked great. Then I swatched every polish and let them dry during the night. It took me about 2,5 hours to swatch around 100 polishes. I had them all around my room, letting them dry, and you can only imagine the smell in the morning, when I woke up. I had to have the window open a whole night and back then there were very cold nights.

And this is my "green" collection. I bet, some turquise and teal polishes are missing, because I have them among blue polishes. I have the most green polishes in my stash, I'm a huge fan of this color.

False nails, I was using, I got from Born Pretty Store. There are 500 false nails in the packaging, 10 diferent sizes. These work great, they don't break, when you're glueing them on stickers, they have smooth surface, so they're great for swatches. But I think the smalles won't be handy for swatch stickers, because they're to small. I think these sticks would be also great for nail art.

If you're going to shop in Born Pretty Store, use my code for 10% discount.

Doing swatch stickers, writing names and swatching 100 polishes took me about 5 hours (more or less). My collection is big, but I'll slowly swatch it whole and then I'll show you the final result.

I hope this post was useful for some of you. If I forgot to mention something, feel free to aks me. Thank you for reading!

RETO 2013: Inspired by Make Up

Hi, everyone! Another post today, because this week I still owe you my manicure for RETO 2013 challenge. This is the last manicure for this challenge. I have to say I really enjoyed it, there were fun 12 weeks. Last task is "inspired by make up". Here I decided to do manicure, inspired by Ciate. Some time ago I saw this photo on Internet, I don't remember anymore, where, and I really loved it. I wanted to recreate it and this challenge gave me a perfect chance.

As a base I used random black polish. For design I used Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet, Essence Bloom-a-Loom, Essence Makes Me Weak and Catrice Bye, Bye Birdy. In the end I used Essence Matt top coat, which is pretty thick already and it doesn't apply nicely anymore (which is also noticeable on my manicure).

So, that's it. My last manicure for RETO 2013 challenge. Don't forget to check, what other girls did. Thank you for reading!

Review and Swatches: Misslyn Velvet Diamond Collection

Hi, girls! Today I'm showing you swatches of 3 shades, I gor from Misslyn Velvet Diamond collection. This is a collection with polishes, that have so called "sand finish", which is really popular lately. Misslyn is first drugstore brand, that released collection with this finish. In collection are 8 shades, you can see them all here. They are not very similar to Barry M Textured polishes, because these have more glitter. When they dry, they're rough. Drying time is very low, they dry fast. Their formula is nice, polishes are easy to apply and they're pretty opaque. I used only 2 coats for each and they're pretty opaque already after one coat so they're not layering polishes, although you can layer them too over some similar shade. If you'll layer them over different shade, I'm not sure, if base color will be nicely visible. As most of the glittery polishes, these are also very hard to remove. I was using foil technique with them, but you can also use peel off base coat under them.

First is 58 Sparkling Orange. It has an orange base and it contains a lot of golden shimmer, which looks even prettier in person. I used 2 coats of it and on photos it looks, like I would need another one, because my nail line is still visible, but it person it wasn't noticeable. To me this is really an amazing shade.

Next one is 47 Bright Love. This one has a brownish-red base and a lot od multicolor shimmer, which is more visible in the bottle than on nails. On nails is the most visible pink shimmer and under certain light also orange shimmer. I used 2 coats for swatch.

The last one is 78 Dazzling Water. This one is bright blue shade with bigger silver and blue glitter. I used 2 coats.

While I was photographing swatches of the last shade, I remember, that I forgot to make photos of them with top coat, so I decided to apply top coat on them on a nail wheel. I wanted to show to you, how they look all shiny and glossy. I actually like them with top coat pretty much too.

I also made a video review, but it's in Slovene. I doubt, I'll ever talk in English in my videos, I just don't feel enough comfortable to talk in other language, that isn't my mother's language.

One Misslyn bottle contain 10 ml of polish and each coats 5,79 €.

I really like these and maybe I'll get polish in royal blue shade too. What do you think about these polishes, do you like them? Do you prefer them without or with top coat? Which shade is your favourite? Thank you for reading!

31 Day Challenge - Day 16: Tribal Print

Hi, guys! Day 16 in 31 day challenge is tribal print. I don't like this theme much, because I will never be able to do tribal print perfectly as other girls do it. I did it only once before for other challenge and I have a feeling, I won't do it again, except if I will join another challenge with this task.

I didn't took anything as inspiration, I just drew, what came on my mind. First I painted my nails with white She 115. Then I randomly used 3 neon nail polishes: CH Nail Lacquer in shade 15, China Glaze Sun Worshiper and Ruby Kisses Tropical Green. In the end I made stripes and dots with black nail polish. I'm not completely satisfied with it, but it's better than my first one. My favourite desing is on my index finger.

Have you ever tried tribal print? Do you like it? What do you think about mine? Thank you for reading!

Barry M Blood Orange

Hi, girls! Today I'm finally showing you a swatch of Barry M Blood Orange polish, that I got from Lič last month. This polish is part of Barry M's Gelly Hi-Shine collection.

Although its name is Blood Orange, this polish isn't orange at all. It's a red creme shade. Its formula it's really amazing, it's very pigmented and easy to apply. It was already opaque after one coat, but I used two as always. When it drys, it's really glossy even without top coat. I have to say, it's formula surprised me, I didn't expect, it will be so easy to work with it.

I also tried to make daisy nail art, but no mather, how I try, my daisies look awful. I used tempera painting for them.

Barry M bottle contains 10 ml of polish and it's available on Lič for 6,55 €.

What do you think about this Barry M shade, do you like it? Thank you for reading!
